Gaia turns to her counterpart.
"Would you be willing?"

 

"Fair point."
Voidfiller takes another sip.

 

"Of course!" Gaia says happily, smiling.

 

Alice offers to refill Voidfiller's cup.
"Also, do you find it strange that I am the only shadow who has yet to have blood on their hands?"

Gaia smiles.
"Again, I cannot thank you enough. I am beyond indebted to the help I have received from you, your children, and this Praecantatia's daughter."

 

He takes the offer.
"No. I look at it as sort of a part of their lifestyle, no matter how weird it may seem. If one grows up in a village, then moves to the city, they could easily say that the need for cement roads is weird."

 

"I've been living among them for thousands of years. I guess I just never felt the lust for murder."

 

"Not many do."
He takes a sip.
"That's a lie. Many do, more just don't act on it."

 

"Her name is Stephanie." Caelia says, smiling as Gaia puts her hands to her head.

 

"Not among shadows. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one without a kill."

"Stephanie? That's a nice name."

 

"I'm talking about non-demonic races."

 

"I'm talking about shadows and only shadows."

 

"Then, yeah, I'd say that many like to kill."

 

"So you'd say it's strange I don't?"

 

"I wouldn't say that. But, there's no one you've ever wanted to kill, ever?"

 

"There's people I've wanted to see in prison or tortured, but never dead. There is no crime without motive."

 

Voidfiller smiles.
"In your rulebook, maybe."

 

"I follow no rulebook."

 

"Then, depending on where you live, crime can be done without motive. Of course, choice has to be a thing, but not really the choice to commit a crime. Alcohol, for example, plays a big part in these crimes."

 

"There is motive behind alcohol. I never said there had to be ill will, I said there must be motive. I also never said it had to belong to the one who commit the action."
