Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Anne smiles.
"You tired, or should we do something else before it gets too much darker?"

"Okay, yes. I got that part. How exactly do you shove something in your chest?"

Gaia sighs.
"...Will it function as a barricade?"

 

"No, I'm not that tired. Had a pretty good sleep last night."

 

"It should."
I nod, as Voidfiller hops into the empty cart, sitting down.

 

"I suppose I can make anything dissolve into my chest. I am stardust after all. Actually.."

I try to reach for the crown.

 

"Hopefully. Please continue."

 

It works. You grab the crown easily.

"...What the hell did I just witness?" N grumbles.

"Alright. Do you want to maybe check back in with Siln about your rock game?"

"Patience. I need you here, anyways... it's hard to have you speak through a telepathic link if you aren't here to be part of the link." She sighs.

"Then it'll work... hopefully." Gaia sighs, raising a foot.

The workers scatter.

 

I quizzically stand ground, while Voidfiller looks to Gaia from his cart and Crystal looks around, nervous.

 

"Well, I'm sure some of the wild animals like wolves could kill her if they decided to target her," The guard says, "Your best option would be the south gate behind the palace or the east gate on the eastern side of the city."

 

"Which direction does the main entryway point?"

"Mortal, I suggest you move." Gaia says, looking directly at Crystal.

 

Crystal quickly does so, running over to the cart.

 

Gaia stomps, crystals rapidly growing from the quartz slab to further reinforce the (at this point, makeshift) door.

 

Crystal watches in amazement, while Voidfiller seems to be thinking about something else.

 

Gaia turns back to her chambers.
"You three may want to head back, or prepare for a difficult battle. Thank you for your aid, however. If I survive this siege, I will see that you get repaid."

 

Voidfiller is suddenly attentive.
"Repaid? How so?"
"What could you possibly want?"
"Yeah, you've already got tons of stuff!"
Pause.
"It's not about what it is, it's the fact that it's from the Gaia."
"Yeah right."

 

"Okay, let me rephrase. You two will be repaid with a wish..." She says, tail pointing at you and Crystal.
"...and you will be repaid with mercy." She says, glancing at Voidfiller.

 

"...What's wrong with you're eyes."

 

Crystal smiles.
"All right."
Voidfiller seems disappointed, putting his hand to his mouth and literally zipping it shut.

 

"...If I tell you, will you stay a while? Nobody ever comes here."

Gaia heads back into her chambers, closing the doors.

The workers start to fan out and go in various rooms, most of them going to meditate, eat, or sleep.

 

The three of us start to talk quietly before Voidfiller disappears into a portal, Crystal following.
I, however, stick around, going to the nearest wall and plopping down against it.

 

"...How'd you meet the big dragon?" A faerie asks quietly, hovering above you.
