Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"They're not criminals. They're unorthodox freedom fighters. They have a purpose for what they do. For example, you commit crime to feed and protect your family. If you were able to be employed, you would not have to turn to this life."
Pause.
"Besides, I cannot judge a criminal if I am one myself. I am the criminal king.. am I not?"

 

"...I suppose you're right. I know that my way of life should be discouraged if possible, though."

 

"The key is: if possible. Now, let us continue to the armory."

 

"Trade."
He takes out his crossbow remains.
"This is what I got."

 

"I came here to find you. I was worried something had happened to you." Artemis says.

 

N goes down one more block through the alley before stopping.
"Right here is the back wall into the armory. We can either work our way outside in or inside out, depending on what you want to bash first."

"Oh, that'll be enough. You a hunter?"

"Yeah, I love it here. I could overgrow this entire city in two minutes flat!" Ihra says happily.

 

"I think they want to avoid the overgrowth, though I must admit this place is quite a nice change from all the darkness and twilight." Artemis says, chuckling a bit.

 

"Every now and then, yes."
He hands over the crossbow remains.

 

"Well, yeah. I'm fine. Did Aj ever recover?"

"Go find one you like and bring it back here." The clerk says, taking the frame.

 

"Yeah, he's back to his usual sweet self." Artemis says happily.

 

"Did you guys go and meet Gaia yet? Her plants are really cool."

 

"Yeah, she didn't like Aj much though. Just...automatically, like he'd done something in the past to her." Artemis says.

 

"She just takes a little while to warm up to mortals. She gets betrayed all the time."

 

"Did she put her trust in the Hive Master?" Artemis asks.

 

"Never, no."

 

"So who did she get betrayed by?" Artemis asks, curious.

 

"There's no pattern, they just often abuse her favor."

 

"That's rather horrible. It puts why my Gaia and the other gods don't interact much into perspective." Artemis admits.

 

"She continues anyways. She may be a bit of a resentful mother, but she still tries to act like a mother."

 

I walk back to the door, looking for Gaia.
