(You don't have money, you came here intending to shoplift)

"Then you know enough, other than my name. I am Gaia, and Xlentia's been sending her forces to aid me."

 

“It’s nice to meet you, Gaia. Would you mind if I looked around the palace more?”

 

"Go ahead, but frankly, you can see most of it from where you are. There's only a single hall, unlike Xlentia's."

 

Good thing I can teleport. I take all 3 maps and teleport out of the store. Perferably someplace no one is looking.

 

“Good to know. Is it safe outside?”

 

It's hard to know where nobody's watching, though you get lucky and teleport to a spot where nobody is.

Now for a getaway.

"Not in the slightest."

 

I follow N.

 

N slinks down an alley, reaching out into the street before pulling back what seems to be an unconscious guard.
"Okay, we're in the clear. Get across the street quick, the other guard should rotate over here in twenty seconds." He whispers.

 

I maneuver myself quickly along the walls of the houses lining the street and then dash across the street.

 

N waits a bit, darting to you as the guard passes.
"Not bad. You're quick for having such a heavy mace." He whispers.

 

“It almost seems to float, I feel.”

 

"Well, if you truly have the strength of the stars, no wonder it feels that way."
Pause.
"I'm sorry to get you caught up with my side of the law. I'd rather risk getting executed for leaking black market secrets than watch my family burn." N whispers, taking just a moment to be genuine before shaking his head and moving further down the alley.

 

“Figured. Well, thanks.”
I say, looking at how big the hallway is and what other rooms are around.

 

I straighten myself and head for the nearest exit.

 

There's four rooms on each side of the miles-long hallway.

Gaia heads down to the damaged door, growing masses of plants to cover the weakened points.

The nearest one has another four guards, but they just wave at you as you head out.
"Enjoy your trip, ma'am."

 

I look towards the door once more before heading into the nearest room.

 

It seems to be a massive meditation room, floral structures offering a relaxing escape from the rest of the world.

In the center of the room, a dryad is connected to everything in the room by a massive number of (tangled) vines. Their eyes are closed, but it's clear that they're managing the meditation points.

 

I check who else is in the room.

 

“The tyrant won’t burn this city, even if he wants to try. The Black Market will become powerful and we will rip the throne away from right under him.”

I follow N.

 

"Thank you."
And I am out of there!
