"I have some friendly relationships with normal faeries."

"That's totally understandable." They nod. "Does it feel different, though? Like, by touch or smell?"

 

I place the bread in my Chambers, and then head to see the king

 

I drop the crown deep into my chestplate.

I nod at the man.

 

"Oh, from here?" I ask.

 

The throne room is locked, guards waiting.
"Now isn't a good time, seer."

It becomes a speck within the stars.
"...What?"

"Huh, maybe you could ask them about the faerie queen for me then." I say, shrugging.

 

"...Just remind me why we should talk to her."

 

"My senses increase. I see, hear and smell better."

 

"To show that we, as a species, aren't terrible?" I say.

I walk towards the guards.

 

"Does it take getting used to?"

"I'm literally the only shadow without a kill, hold newborns." Alice grunts.

They eye you down, before nodding.
"Alright, he can go in with you. Keep an eye on that mace, though. I swear I've seen it before."

 

I follow the man.

 

"In the beginning, yes. But I got used to it after a few months or so."

 

He heads into a shoddy house, holding the door open.
"Come on in."

"Huh... is it a curse or something?"

 

“Who are you, by the way?”

 

"...An old acquaintance. Let's just say you've imprisoned me twice for thievery."

 

"You weren't originally a Shadow though." I respond.

 

"Not really. I thought it was, but I passed down from generation for generation."

 

"Huh... strage."
"Hey, I'm back. They do trades or twenty silver."
