Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, one group you saved." Rineth shrugs. "Point is, the Hive Master somehow got his hands on a pure mage crystal and realized that they were extremely deadly when overloaded. You managed to either get lucky or knew something we didn't to keep that disaster from happening."

 

"YOUR THE BOSS. THIS IS YOUR INN."
He looks at the Innkeeper.
"YOU CALL THEM?"

 

It appears to be the same Shadow, the group heading toward the dining hall.

"But, wouldn't they just explode if you over-ooooooh." I say, realizing what Rineth meant.

 

Crystal stops trailing the Shadow, going over to the wall near the grass and sitting on it.

 

Crystal is undisturbed on the wall, a gentle breeze rustling the leaves of the trees behind him.

 

Rineth rolls his eyes.
"Yep. There you go."
Pause.
"Now, unintended heroics aside, are you okay?"

"They're on their way. Should be here any moment now."

Transforming was stupidly effective. You may want to go back before the police arrive.

 

"Mostly. My head still hurts a bit." I say, shrugging.

 

Crystal relaxes, looking behind him while waiting for the armored Shadow to come back.

 

"In fairness you did take an artillery blast to the back of the neck."
Pause.
"Well, if it means anything, Xlentia deemed it safe enough to open a portal to Gaia's palace. You don't have to be dropped in the middle of a warzone anymore."

 

Crystal can see a young forest guardian sitting by some of the trees, putting her hand on the ground and raising it, causing a flower to grow from it.

"Oh, Artemis might like that." I say happily.

 

Crystal watches her, entertained.

 

The girl just grows a few flowers before trying to dig them out of the ground with a few vines almost shaped like a hand, though fails to do so.

 

"Yeah. That's what I thought." He thinks.
He transforms back to his human form, smiling towards the Innkeeper.
"Okay, let's wait here then."

 

Crystal uses magic to raise the ground below the flower for the girl, making a sort of pedestal.

 

"You may wish to head out now if you want to speak with her. The Hive Master eased up on the pressure to reinforce."

The group who was fighting looks at you, confused.

The door opens and four officers come in.
"These the troublemakers?"
"Yeah, tore up the dining room."
"We'll take it from here. Whatever you did to de-escalate the situation, it worked well."

 

The girl seems confused, looking under the raised ground.

"Alright, I'll go get Artemis." I say, getting up from my throne.

 

"No problem." He smiles at the police.

 

Crystal sprouts a thumbs-up from the ground, which quickly retreats.

 

"I'll see you soon." Rineth says, opening a portal to Xlentia's palace.

"That covers your room. Head out whenever you'd like." The innkeeper says.

The officers begin questioning the people in the fight.

 

The girl seems scared, getting up and running off.

"See you!" I say, waving to Rineth.
