"Don't fire and earth guardians usually use hammers or gauntlets?"

 

"How much longer do you have?"

 

"Earth guardians use swords or hammers. It's really a choice between swiftness or heavy attacks." Vexa shrugs.

 

"You think that's light enough for an air guardian?" Ruby asks.

"Another few years."

 

"And who are those people that want to turn you into a robot? Some of your 'followers'?"

 

"No, a few friends."

 

"I don't think they'd be able to utilize it very well. They usually use stuff like boomerangs because they're light and able to be manipulated easily. Air guardians are sort of the weakest of us." Vexa says.

 

"Oh. Do you know what all those things in my room are? I never saw them before."

 

"Ask one to try and wield it. I think you'll be surprised."
Pause.
"Also, do you maybe want to visit my sister? She has the full collection of my old works."

 

"Tomorrow, certainly." Vexa says, yawning.

 

"Yeah, but you won't need to know much right now."

"Well, sounds like we're both off to bed."

 

"I wanted to arrange a few things down here first, but you're welcome to." Vexa says.

 

"Oh, okay."
He looks around the room.
"This whole spectral thing still feels kinda weird."

 

"See you in the morning, boss." Ruby yawns, heading to bed and promptly falling asleep.

"It will. It's unnatural, so to speak."

 

Nothing disturbs Ruby through the night, and she isn't woken early by the sound of hammering.

 

She winds up waking around noon, wearily heading downstairs.
"Sorry, Abigail. I didn't feel well after yesterday." Ruby thinks.

 

“Ouch.”
Crystal says, using his hands to roll his eyes around, feeling them.
“At least he wasn’t much of a problem solver.”

 

"Yeah. That's true. I'll probably get used to it after a while."
He looks at his hands.
"Anything else you maybe want to know or have to tell?"

 

"Not for now. I'll just have someone keep an eye out for you in the Great Destroyer's home."

 

"You mean Artemis?"
