"No, unless you try to harm anyone." The doctor says.

Katie rolls over, pulling her hand away.

 

"I would prefer you stopped implying that I'm considering that." Ruby sighs, sitting down near Katie's bed.

 

Katie breathes softly, asleep.

 

"Well.. the burns weren't that bad, so I don't see them as wounds or getting injured. "

 

Ruby lets Abigail have more control of her body, waiting to see how she reacts.

"...You still smell like soot, you know."

 

Abigail just stays where she is beside Katie.

 

"I've been told. Many times."
Pause.
"Could be because of Anne."

 

Ruby stays near Katie's bed, hoping for her to wake.


Sapphire shows up at the Light Palace with Ihra, whose first reaction is to lay down and sprawl out on the ground.
"Uhm... I didn't really think you want that to be your introduction to all of these new people..." Sapphire sighs.
"But it feels so nice!" Ihra giggles, leafy vines starting to grow from the tips of her claws, horns, and tail.

"Do you always try to blame her for those kinds of things?" Rema asks. "Because if you do, then no wonder you're getting married to her."

 

"What do you mean by that?! I feel a little offended to be honest."

 

"Oh, it's fine. Married couples often blame each other when their spouse isn't present. I know I did, before I was a widow."

 

"I.. I just meant that because she's a fire vixen, she smells like soot. And because she sleepsysteem on my shoulders most of the time, I smell like soot too."

 

"Well, maybe... but you smell burnt. I don't know if she burns you when she sits on your shoulder... but you still smell burnt."

 

"Uh...is this one of the victims of war that survived a shot to the head?" One of the guards asks.

 

"Nope, she's fine. She just wanted to visit Lux's realm since she just... you know... was there when he attacked Xlentia."
"Hiya! You're really lucky to live here!" Ihra says happily, vines still growing.

 

"Oh, I see." The guard says.

 

"She also got chewed up by Tenebrae, so I figured that a visit to a happier place, AKA here, was about due. Plus, her friends just got hit with artillery, so she's sort of having a rough day."
"Better than watching my caretaker get burned alive and then splatter everywhere." Ihra comments.

 

"Could be the paw marks she leaves whenever she heals me. But I thought I washed most of them off."

 

"She's certainly a strange one..." The guard comments.

 

"Wait, she heals you by stepping on you?"

"Strange, but she stood before all of the gods in this reality and somehow convinced them to help us... even help us stop Lux."
"Mommy said I was special. I could summon her here if you don't believe me!" Ihra says happily.

 

"Well.. kinda. She uses her paws to heal me and they leave marks. Yeah, she does step on me if you think about it."
