"You preserved their souls and only stripped them of their power, I hope?" Xlentia asks, alarmed.

 

"They shall burden you no more." Mortius says coldly.

 

"The mainland. The guardian ziz has a tendency to pick on dragons, but she only stays near the mainlands."

"Did you disrupt your own reality or no?"

 

Mortius remains silent.

"It was you or them..." Gaia says, a little saddened.

 

Xlentia seems stunned.
"...You should have let it be me! Your reality isn't in shambles, but... b-"
"Sister, they made their move. You cannot erase what has been etched."

 

"We thought our connections with your reality are more valuable than two gods of our own." Gaia says.

 

"So one of the elemental guardians is picking fights with the dragons? That's.. bad." He says a bit nervous.

 

Xlentia bows her head, uneasy.
"...That's insane... that's just insane..."
"We thank you, but... you're risking your reality for ours. Did you not initially believe all our refugees should be returned for the sake of your reality?"

"...I'm going to hope he's not dead and make a request for the phoenix to seek him out later today."

 

I stay down for a while, discontinuing the petting of the dog.

 

"I...didn't want Tenebrae dead...but the other gods said it was too risky." Gaia says sadly.

"You could've tried, Mortius!" Gaia snaps at Mortius after a pause, her hair and eyes turning a firey red.

The dog gets up into a sitting position, seeming to be guarding you.

 

"Gaia, please... don't get riled up. Anger is how this mess started." Xlentia pleads.

 

Gaia's colours turn to deep blue.

"I'm sorry...I just wish we didn't have to kill Tenebrae..." Gaia says, sad.

 

I lift my head up, watching and listening to the gods.

 

"...What's done is done. We have to make do with where we are now." Xlentia sighs.
"We should be able to at least help make up the void in Tenebrae and Lux's absence."

 

"I hope so too."
He's quiet.
"So... I talked to the dragons about my curse."

 

"The sorcerers? How'd it go?"

 

"Caelia agreed to look after the realms while the pair recovered. She didn't want to, but she agreed to." Gaia says.

 

"Yeah them. They were able to remove the curse, so now I can control my abilities better."

 

"Then we need to speak to her." Xlentia says.
"Her burden is our fault. We could at least ease it."

"Who'd you get help from?"

 

"I could go and ask for her to come here if you wanted." Gaia says.
