Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

A reinforced door leads out of the lab, though it doesn't seem to have a handle on it. Instead, a hand-shaped scanner sits next to the door on the wall.

 

Ihra waits for Stephanie, considering attempting to blink through the door.

Shadow Stephanie can hear loud footsteps come from behind her.

 

Stephanie is soon as huge as Ihra is, staying relative to her size to Ihra when she was small.

Stephanie puts her hand on the scanner, which scans her hand for a moment before beeping, the door opening.

"Mum, I brought some more friends over again!" Stephanie shouts.

"Again!?" Ihra hears an unfamiliar voice shout back.

Shadow Stephanie jumps forward, spinning around and summoning her daggers, before looking at whoever is behind her.

 

Ihra hesitates.
"Hello Mrs. Stephanie's mother!" She calls.

 

It's me, and I stop moving.
"Geez. You're not okay, are you?"

 

"Call me Phoebe!" The voice shouts back.

Katie and I appear to have grown huge too, and Stephanie waves the group out of the room, taking the lead.

"I'm fine, just don't sneak up on me like that." Shadow Stephanie says, crossing her arms.

 

"Hello miss Phoebe!" Ihra calls, following Stephanie as her staff passively absorbs massive amounts of magic charges...

 

"I wasn't. If I was sneaking, I'd be more silent."

 

Stephanie heads to a workshop room, a table laden with tools and crystals sat at by a woman with deep purple hair, a pair of metal goggles resting on her head. The woman turns around once Stephanie enters, revealing her violet eyes and kind smile. She seems to be wearing a dark navy-blue t-shirt with a yellow sun symbol on it, as well as a pair of casual looking jeans and black boots.

"Hey, Stephanie!" Praecantatia says happily, getting up to hug Stephanie, who accepts the hug.

"Hiya mum!" Stephanie says happily.

"Who's your new friend? I recognize Aj and Katie." Praecantatia asks after hugging Stephanie.

"This is Ihra, the person I've- well, we've all being trying to save." Stephanie explains.

"Oh, so you're Ihra! It's nice to meet you." Praecantatia says happily, smiling at Ihra.

"Whatever." Shadow Stephanie says flatly.

 

"It's nice to meet you too! I had a feeling Stephanie was too magical to just be human..." She says, smiling.

Her staff crystal may be of interest to Praecantatia...

 

"What's the crystal in your staff, may I ask? I can't help but notice it's absorbing a lot of the magic around here." Praecantatia asks.

 

"Oh, I don't know. The staff's some relic that I was given. It'll erase me if I die, though.."

 

"Is it cursed then?" Praecantatia asks, curious, sliding down her metal goggles to get a better look at the magic surrounding the crystal.

 

"Nope!"
The magic seems to be extremely potent creation magic. Once supplied with magic, it can infinitely generate energy, and given enough, has signs of being used to create an entire reality.

...and it's in the hands of a young draconian?!

 

"That crystal of yours is extremely powerful. Who exactly gave you your staff?" Praecantatia says, surprised, sliding up her goggles.

 

"Mother said that she must entrust it to me, only to keep it from falling into the wrong hands."
She glances at you.

 

"What?" I ask.

"Is your mother a goddess too?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"No, she's dead." Ihra says, losing her composure slightly.

 

"Oh, I'm very sorry to hear that." Praecantatia says sympathetically.

"Do you like games?" Praecantatia asks.

Stephanie gasps excitedly, and Praecantatia smiles at her. Katie and I just look confused.
