Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

You start to drift off, when suddenly you notice something strange - the cave floor no longer feels as hard.

...You've transformed.

 

"OH NO."
Panic breathing.
"KEEP IT TOGETHER."

 

As you start to panic, your senses heighten again.

You can hear Anne approaching, but as long as you look at the ceiling, you should be able to stave off the bloodlust. Hopefully.

 

"WHO'S THERE? STAY AWAY?"
He keeps looking at the ceiling.

 

"A-are you... already losing it?!" Anne asks, backing up.

The darkness slowly clears to night vision, but it soon begins to fade.
One more surge might throw you over the edge...

 

"GET OUT."
He tries to concentrate.
"Come on, come on."

 

She says nothing, scampering out.

As you concentrate you tire, falling asleep.


...Your dreams are sickening, though. Transformed, you rip into Sgavrinn, and he finds himself unable to stop you, screaming and whimpering all the while.
An arrow pierces your shoulder. Initially, it does little more than infuriate you, but you start losing control of your dream body, and...

You wake, the cave still as dark as pitch.
You're still transformed, but much calmer than before.

 

*calm sigh*
"Jeez, that wasn't a nice dream. Hope nothing happened to Sgavrinn."

 

It's still dark, but it seems the bad dream was from another surge.

You're no longer weary, but you've still got a painfully long ways to go.

 

"Keep it together. Focus."
He corrects his breathing.

 

It's a long wait, but the next surge comes later than usual.

You zone out for a bit, finding yourself having attacked the rock. You're sore, but calm once again.


This is the best you've ever handled a full moon. If you can keep it up, you'll have your work cut out for you...

 

"This is going good. Let's keep it up."
He calms down and looks around.

 

"Who? Praecantatia?" I ask.


"Eve took some time off to go motorcycling." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Yeah."


"When she gets back, then?"

The cave's mostly empty, though there are a few stones and a tic-tac-toe grid.

 

"As far as I know she's a goddess. I would think the only god or goddess classified as a guardian would be Gaia." I say.


"I'll call her off the search." Shadow Stephanie says, no dishonesty in her voice.

 

"Ooh, can we see Gaia too?"


"I hope to see you again... but good luck convincing the others of my innocence. They wouldn't be the only ones wanting me dead."

 

"Probably." I say, shrugging.

"Mother said she had another meeting to go to soon, so maybe I could try and get her to let us come along?" Stephanie proposes.


"Weren't you going to show yourself to me?" Shadow Stephanie asks, "At least tell me why I'm wrong about you killing me and Abigail."

 

"Yeah, that sounds fun!"


Pause.
"Which do you want me to do? I'll only do one."

 

Stephanie reaches the end of the hallway, taking a right. There seems to be a tube with a transparent ball in it, as well as an interactive panel next to the tube.


"Show yourself." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

Ihra looks at the ball.
"Ooh, is it like a rollercoaster?"


Ruby appears in front of Shadow Stephanie, standing on the ground like a less powerful version of the Ruby she once knew. The only other difference is that her eyes seem to be the same as Abigail's...
