Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There's a few exits to the room, one directly across from Emerald while another pair lie on the other side of the room.

"Hey." Shadow Stephanie greets, looking at Emerald. Shadow Stephanie still seems to be in her pyjamas, little white skulls and bones on her black bottoms while her top seems to have a face with red eyes and white grinning teeth on it, the face appearing to be the entire top.

 

"Yes, just for tonight. Because tomorrow the lunar cicle starts a new."

 

Emerald heads to the pair of exits.
"Just wandering." She says, mostly distracted by her own thoughts.

"Alright. I don't wanna spend too many days on a volcano."
"Oh, it's not that bad. The Phoenix can also make sure things don't get out of hand."
"...The what?"

 

"A Phoenix? You mean like those big fire bird things."

 

The exit to her left probably leads to the kitchen, though the right is unexplored.

 

"Yeah. Four guardian beasts, you know?"
"I'm the guardian of the waters, and then we have a guardian of fire, earth, and sky." The Leviathan explains. "Each one is a different beast, but the Phoenix usually stays dormant in the heart of the volcano."

She heads to the right.

 

The right door leads to a small corridor, a metal door at the end.

 

She checks to see if the metal door is locked.

 

The metal door opens automatically when approached, revealing Praecantatia inside. The room appears to be filled with technology, screens, odd machines and computers stacked up around the room. The floor appears to be made of a soft plastic substance, and Praecantatia sits in an office chair, typing into one of the computers.

"I was expecting you, Emerald. I thought we could see if we can get your memories back now." Praecantatia says, not turning around.

 

She glances at the monitor Praecantatia is operating.
"I suppose magic does include magitech..." She mumbles, entering.
"So... what did you have in mind?"

 

"Legendary beast. What about the earth and air guardians, what animals are they?"

 

"A behemoth and a ziz, respectively."
Anne keeps quiet.

 

The monitor has various UIs each showing charts and prompts, though Emerald can just about see cat videos nestled behind them.

"Well, I was first thinking you could enter your subconscious mind and I'd take you back through your most recent memories. One possible solution is that you still have your memories, you just cannot access them normally, so you just need to jumpstart them." Praecantatia explains.

 

"...Are you working, or watching cat videos?" Emerald asks, seemingly ignoring the question.

 

"Wow. Those would make great companions. But they are guardians, so getting them as companions is probably near impossible."

 

"I'm friendly with many. The simple things help, and I figure that if you really wanted to, you could travel around the world and befriend all four. I don't know how much you trust me, but you've at least already got a start."

 

"I'm working both on my own system and the servers required to help you get your memories back." Praecantatia says, sounding offended while attempting to sneakily hide her cat videos with a moving chart.

Praecantatia slides over to her left, retrieving a comparatively tiny robotic golem from a tube before opening a drawer under the desk she's working on, taking out what looks like a small LED and affixing it to the golem, before putting it back into the tube and sending it off. While Praecantatia isn't obstructing the monitor, Emerald can just about make out the background of it is a picture of Stephanie, smiling.

 

Emerald smiles.
"At least show them to me."

 

Praecantia sighs, changing the active window to the cat videos and making them full screen, turning the volume up. The video seems to consist of a lot of clips, one of them being a cat looking out of a window and seemingly meowing, though it's meows are replaced with gunshots.

 

"I trust you enough. I mean.. if you wanted, you could just throw me into the water."
