Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The snake turns and follows.


She avoids the stomp, the golem too slow to react to much else.


She gets close enough to see a laser dot on it, a cloaked guard nearby.


Xlentia starts bashing the seal, cracking a tiny gap in it.

 

The snake ends up passing straight through the portal, unable to enter it, before it disappears completely.


Katie starts sending a barrage of icicles toward the golem.


Artemis hangs back a bit flying backwards to let the guard take the shot.


After drawing a wall of runes, Stephanie lets them fly into the barrier, the runes nulling and damaging it's source.

 

Katie and Artemis see Sapphire's snake puppet retreat into another portal.


A light pulse rifle-style shot hits the golem, causing it to disintegrate from the neck down.


The barrier falls, many more behind it.
After a moment, Xlentia stops.
"Mortal, cease your assault. Just for a moment." She barks at Stephanie.

 

Artemis and Katie wait to see what happens.


Stephanie pauses, looking up at Xlentia expectantly.

 

Nothing.


"She sealed herself tight. Mind control."

 

Artemis flies toward the golem's head, attempting to split it in half with Shadow Katana as she flies through it.


"The hive master got her?" Stephanie asks, hints of Shadow Stephanie's voice layered in with hers.

 

"You're afraid of water. Which one do you prefer?"

 

It cuts clean through.


"That's her curse. She couldn't weaken his control enough... apparently every bit of info that went through her also went to him, and now she's sealed her weakened self in the library."

"I don't care, you're the one getting wet."

 

Artemis flies back around, sliding down through the golem.


"...I could protect her, in a way, with this." Stephanie says, holding up her book. It seems to have a large rune glowing on the front of it, an aura of dangerous magic around it.

 

It's a pile of dust and ash.


"Well, you can either use that shiny thing or deal with her like that for now."

 

"Then lets search for a stream."

 

Artemis lands on the ground, checking to see if Katie is alright.


"You mean the crystal Aj was given to remove Emerald's curse? I don't even know who he wants to use it on yet, and he doesn't seem to even want to." Stephanie says, Shadow Stephanie's voice taking priority over her own halfway through.

 

"North. Kinda nice, and didn't get caught by the fire."

She should be fine, if not a bit tired.


"Well, you've apparently been feeding the Hive Master your every move for the past month or so."

 

"I guess considering the amount of help Emerald has been to us, the influence the Hive Master has over her and how fine the other cursed siblings seem to be with their life, Emerald is the best choice," Shadow Stephanie says through Stephanie, "I'll go get Aj to use it on her."

Stephanie heads over toward Artemis and Katie.

 

"Also she's my advisor and thus The Hive Master has been keeping me cooped up indirectly. So if you do, I could thank you for freeing me up. Again."

 

Shadow Stephanie and I appear next to Stephanie and Artemis, and I disappear through a dark portal a moment later, returning with the crystal I was given on my birthday.

 

"Lead the way. I'll follow."

 

Xlentia sighs.
"One barrier down, four hundred and forty nine to go."

She trots off through the ash.

 

The group works on attacking the barriers, trying to weaken them.

 

"I could get Crystal."
I mention, as Voidfiller pulls Crystal out of a portal farther away.
