"Well, I'm sort of curious about what you said regarding Abigail. Do you know what else we need for her? Or where her soul-half even is?" Stephanie asks.

 

"Will do. Thanks again."
Pause.
"Good night."

 

"Oh, it's over in this reality. I don't want to spoil everything for you, but let's just say that it's trapped. Someone has it, and you like neither of the two possibilities."

"...Night."

 

"Well, we sort of know who has it. Iris teamed up with Ruby to kill Abigail when she was being resurrected and stole her soul. Mortius then came to claim it, but could only get half of it, so she's probably the one with it. I was just wondering if you knew where she is...thought that doesn't explain what you said about that not being enough." Stephanie says, thinking.

"Um, I have a question," Katie says, "Do you think we'll be able to kill the Hive Master?"

 

"Alright, I'll hurry up."
It takes a bit, but soon Voidfiller drops in front of the portal room.

 

Bardock walks towards the pack, looking around at the damage caused by the fire and searching for Keela

 

"Ruby and Iris are your two options. However, I will let you in on one thing; they would never cooperate with each other."

"Do I think you'll be able to? Well, that depends. If you can get to him, of course. I can't see him winning a duel against a human, but he isn't keen on letting people get that close."

Emerald ushers him into the portal, the group standing in front of a human in a navy blue bathrobe.
"Hey, Voidfiller."

Your territory is just outside the fire perimeter, seemingly unscathed.
Keela pads up to you.
"Are you okay? It looks like you got caught in a stampede..."

 

"Yeah, I'm good. What about the others? Any injuries?"

 

Voidfiller peers at them.
"Hey."
Crystal notices him.
"Hi Voidfiller!"
"Hey, buddy. How've you been?"
"Good! Not doing much, though."

 

"Nothing major.
...You sure you're okay?"

 

"Yeah, no injuries or anything. Just a bit tired."

 

"That's most of them. Well, again, if you've got questions, I've got answers."

"Sounds good."
Pause.
"But before that, can I speak with you for a second?"

 

"Questions?"
"Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you, we get to ask Eric..."
Crystal turns to you.
"Two questions, right?"

 

Keela turns to the pack and whispers something, before they leave.
"Yes?"

"Something happened when all of you guys left the fire and went home."

 

"Oh? What was it?"

 

"So maybe only one of them has her soul...hmm..." Stephanie says, thinking.

"Well, I was just asking since everyone is sort of relying on us. We were the ones who managed to free Xlentia from her mind control, so I don't want to fail and let everyone fall under the Hive Master's influence." Katie says, sounding a bit depressed.

"Hey, uh, Eric? Do you think I could ask you a bit more of a private question?" I ask, walking over to you.

 

"Oh, cool!"
"Neat."
"I've got one."
I speak up.
"How's the Hive Master controlling people?"

 

I nod, stepping off to the side.

"Magic." I saw, wiggling my fingers. "Advanced telepathy, really."
