Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There doesn't seem to be an awful lot for Mary near the huts, wounded guardians being seen to in them or being treated.


"We all brought one of these." Stephanie says, summoning a wrapped present.

"Aj said we needed to each bring a gift to maintain peace between our worlds or something or other. I wasn't really paying attention because he was acting idiotic. Well, more idiotic than he usually is." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Do you have any way to get in touch with Voidfiller?"
I bring up, following the fog.
"Maybe. I haven't really tried. But I hope he didn't leave again..."

 

"Oh, please. You don't hibernate, do you?"

As you follow it, you can see Aj's group coming from the library.


Emerald tries linking with Voidfiller.
"Hey, big event at the Void Palace. Are you going to try and come?"

She winds up laying down again, going in and out of sleep.


"Presents? Okay... well, I doubt he'll mind. Now, follow me. It's in the portal room..."

 

I just keep walking, while Crystal follows, trying to do something.

"Huh? What kind of event?"
Voidfiller responds, his tone hushed.

 

"No, but nothing beats a good rest."

 

"A portal that's only going to open once, for one day. One chance in, one chance out."

She giggles.
"You like that dragon thing's bed of plants?"

 

"Yeah, somehow it was really comfy."

 

"I mean, that's like sleeping on an old mattress after sleeping on rocks for several years."

 

"Wait, you slept on it before?"

 

Eventually, when Mary wakes up, she sees a few wounded guardians on some of the other beds in her hut.


The group follows, Abigail keeping her large black cloak around her, her face barely even visible under the hood.

 

"Princesses don't sleep on rocks."

She glances at their wounds before falling back to sleep, this repeating for a few hours.


Emerald leads them to the portal room, Thirteen and Crystal approaching head-on (albeit clearly with the same destination).

 

"Well, not really a princess anymore now that your parents are.. dead. And you're travelling a lot I take it, so you can't always have a comfy bed."

 

"This is happening right now?"

 

Some of the guardians have large gashes across them, while others smaller yet deeper wounds in vital areas.


Shadow Stephanie and I summon a few more presents and pass them to the others in the group, while Stephanie looks into the portal room.

 

"Yeah, yeah, I'm the queen. Screw that fluff. Comfy beds are nice, but they can get old."

"...Yep."

When Mary wakes again, she looks for a nurse.


The sixth portal opens to a dark room, a half-asleep human in a bathrobe inside.

 

There seems to be a nurse walking around and checking on the wounded guardians, looking them over and inspecting their wounds.


The group decides to head into the portal, Stephanie leading.

 

"Yep, technically you're the queen now. Want me to call you that?"

 

"Nah, that sounds like I care."'

Mary tries to wave them over.


Upon entering, the human glances over.

"Morning... I think. This damn room's got no damn windows."

 

"Alright..."
Pause.
"I'll be there soon."

 

"But if you're the queen then, "does that mean you don't have any siblings?"
