Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She keeps quiet, seeming to self-reflect.

"Because there was a big giant fire and you were busy wondering why you couldn't find prey."

 

"And you made me follow you to the fire, I get it."

 

Kenas keeps silent, as not to disturb Mary.

 

There's no note on that, and it's hard to tell just by looking.

 

"Yeah, but I thought you'd be smarter than to walk into the fire."

Keila sighs, waiting a few hours before shaking the jewel again.

She winds up falling asleep, ruin spilling out of her gut as she just sort of tips over.

 

Nothing happens immediately.

 

"Hey, I was trying to save you. How was I supposed to know that you were resistanced to fire?"

 

Kenas grabs Mary with a few vines before she hits the ground, taking her back to one of the beds in the hut.

 

"Because I'd been standing in the fire for the past twenty minutes?"

She tries to activate it in other ways.

She wakes suddenly the next morning, coughing and sputtering Ruin.

 

The ruin falls onto some dead looking ground next to Mary's bed, seeming to just sink into it and not effect it.

 

She looks around her bed, panicking.

 

The dead ground doesn't seem to extend far around her bed, a difference in the flowers and mushrooms in the dead ground and those in the alive ground easily visible.

 

She stands up, gathering her Ruin and feeding it back inside herself.
After that, she looks for the dagger she was offered.

 

The dagger seems to be on a small, yet withered looking, table next to Mary's bed.

 

She takes it and tests how capable it is of channeling magic.

 

The metal seems partially conductive, though it doesn't seem like the best item to channel magic through.

 

She coats it in ruin, curious to see how it will react.

 

The wooden handle of the dagger blackens, but the metal seems mostly unaffected.

 

She attempts to infuse it with ruin, wondering how far it will go.

 

The handle of the dagger eventually just falls apart, though the metal doesn't seem to be affected by the ruin.
