"You hear that? You're welcome."
Pause.
"What about his owner, the prophet?"

 

Sgavrinn looks at you, confused.

"Sure. She must've raised him very carefully."

 

"Good to know."

 

"Maria, we're gonna be rich!" Jennifer says enthusiastically.

"Yeah, with a bit of that gold we could live easy Jen!" Maria says happily.

 

She stands up.
"Now, you won't get paid until it starts... but you'll have access to everything my servants have. Do either of you know how to read?"

"Let me know when she comes. I'm curious to see who is able to tame a dragon."

 

"I won't. I specialize in making stuff magically, I'm used to it."

 

"Well, if it doesn't work out..."

 

The pair give Xlentia a look that seems to ask if she's being serious or not.

 

"It's a yes or no question. Are you smarter than a rock with a mouth, or not?"

 

"Do we look stupid?" Maria asks.

 

"You both look like specks to me. I can't even tell what you are."

 

"We're succubi from hell." Jennifer explains.

 

"Oh, like those demon creatures who try and seduce men?"

Emerald reappears.
"Mistress, just tell them to go to the library, already..."
"Don't steal my thunder! Bah... whatever. Part of you working for me is that you get to live in my palace. Now, go find stuff in the library. I wish I could go in there, but it's servants only."

 

"We are demons who try to seduce men, and we're often quite successful at getting what we want..." Maria says.

"But that doesn't mean we're limited to just men, we like to take some of the incubi's...jobs, sometimes." Jennifer finishes.

 

"Well, let me know if you reeally want to try and win a battle of wits against me. Until then, please, make yourself at home."
"Don't try. She holds the power to erase all traces and memories of you. She'll get impatient and you'll lose." Emerald whispers to them.

 

"You really think we'd try to seduce someone like her?" Maria whispers, serious.

 

"I don't think anyone would."

 

"Has she ever actually had a mate?" Jennifer whispers.

 

"Maybe in the past, when she could shift to her draconian form. Not since."

 

"That's kind of sad." Jennifer admits.
