Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I wonder if..."
He walks around, searching for what used to be his house.

 

He can't find it, but most things are nothing but rubble and ash.

 

"Guess there's nothing left here."
He continues through the city.
"Sgavrinn, don't get lost!"

 

"Alright. You're in after these guys." The incubus says, gesturing to the group that was in front of Peridot, waiting outside the gate.

 

He whimpers as he stops, having gotten distracted by smelling an old garden.

 

"Just don't wander off."
He continues walking towards the forest

 

"Free for all, or do I have a specified opponent?" He asks, stepping towards the other group.

Sgavrinn opts to just follow you, a bit sad.

 

"You're up against the current champion, Shadow Aj," The incubus says, "Whoever wins gets the title of champion, and they get to defend themselves."

 

"And what if I wish to fight Mortius?"

 

The incubus looks up, "That isn't an option." He says, a little more serious.

 

"We shall see."
"Mrow?"

 

"You can try if you want, but you won't succeed." The incubus says.

The gate opens into a cheering crowd as the group in front of Peridot heads through, before slamming shut again.

 

Peridot heads up.
"We shall see."
Muffy tries to bolt, but Peridot stops her.

 

"Don't look sad. I just don't want to lose you."
He looks at Sgavrinn.
"Ragnyon would probably kill me if anything happened to you. You get that?"

 

Peridot can hear cheering and fighting for a while, before things start to quieten down a bit. The gate slides open.

"You're up." The incubus says.

 

He nods, cheering up and nuzzling you as he follows you more closely.

"I've been waiting for this day." He laughs, entering.

 

A pair of extremely attractive women seem to be on a large screen overlooking the colosseum, announcing Peridot's arrival.

"And up next, we have the ruthless robot from an alternate dimension, Peridot! He's come here in search of a worthy opponent, and perhaps he's found one! Will he succeed, or will he be turned to scrap?" One of the succubi commentating announces.

"He looks pretty strong Maria, I think he stands a chance of taking the title of champion." The other succubus says, the crowd cheering ecstatically.

"But there's only one of him. You really think he can survive a one on one Jennifer?" The first succubus asks, the crowds cheering deafening.

I stand on the other side of the colosseum, eyes closed and katana sheathed, waiting. Half of the crowd seems to be cheering for me, while the other half for Peridot. Behind Peridot, a massive, dark, cloaked figure sits on a giant throne above the colosseum, skeletal hands resting at the ends of the throne's armrests.

 

Peridot turns to the figure, smiling after forming a targeting reticle in their direction.

"Well, shall we begin?" He laughs, Muffy looking nervous.

 

The figure doesn't seem to care.

Peridot feels my eyes staring straight into him as I open them, drawing Shadow Katana and holding it ready.

 

He turns around, Muffy jumping off his back and looking at you curiously.
"I suppose this will be repayment for my disappointment... on the bright side, you did promise me a worthy opponent." He says, checking his power meters.
