Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"On accident." I say.

"Over a tooth." Abigail says, looking at me.

Artemis shifts a little in her sleep upon hearing the melody. A few forest spirits descend and hum along with Sgavrinn.

 

"Crying?"
I put my finger to my eye socket.
"Oh. That's just some extra water. From when that seal thing pushed me in. Shouldn't be anything... bad."

 

Abigail gives you a doubtful smile, "It's fine if you're crying," Abigail says, "I'm sure Artemis holds a special place in all our hearts; so it's fine if you're a little sad about her being injured."

 

"Right. I'm crying. So give me back my rag I lent you so I can clean up the tears mixed with blood."
I hold my hand out.

"Also, isn't Rineth one of Ihra's... summons? Or whatever you might call them? So can't she de-summon and summon him again to get him here?"

 

I throw Abigail the rag, which she passes to you.

"Hm, that reminds me," I say, summoning my dark cloak around myself and putting up its hood, "I forgot to put my cloak back on."

 

"Well, I'll check on my theory with Ihra. Thanks."

I walk over to Ihra.
"Hey, Ihra, isn't Rineth a... uh... umm... organism that you have re-created? As in, you can re-create Rineth?"

 

"I don't think she can re-summon him at will if he's alive." You hear Abigail say.

OOC: Was waiting for Exvhius to respond really.

 

"I can't summon him if he's still alive."

 

"Called it!" Abigail shouts.

 

"Hm. Oh well, it was an idea."

"Nice job!"
I shout back.

 

Abigail seems to be wearing the shades again, in place of her visor.

 

"Pretty sure it'd leave a very large mess of blood and scales..."

"Me?! Attack her? Ahahah... ha... That's..."

"You better not."

"Ah... ha... ha. Ha...?" Kalais straps his axe to his back, putting his hands up.

Khione turns to Xephyr. "Alright then." She backs up a bit and then reverts into a dragon, not as large as Lariuth's dragon had been, but still pretty big.

"Yeah... Unpleasant. Still, off I go."

"Older than Avis. Avis, hon, do you recognize her?"
Xephyr makes sure Lariuth's dragon isn't attempting anything.

 

It isn't that hard to find a drelsh crystal. You were tunneling around when you dug right into one. The impact jars the crystal, but otherwise doesn't do much.

Avis squints, leaning forward. She nods vigorously.

"What? I don't..." Khione shakes her head.

Lariuth's dragon is in his own world, staring off into the distant space.

 

I scream, loosening the ground around it, careful not to shatter the crystal.
Taking as much of it as I can, I go to surface.

"Avis, let me know if you need me. Get a closer look."
Xephyr turns to the dragon.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry about your rider..."

 

"Well that was fast. Ehm, dragons approaching."

The dragon forces a telepathetic connection. "Sure you are. You. Killed. Him."

 

"Great. They go crazy for this stuff, right? Maybe if I create a diversion... Or just go deeper underground. Around the bottomless chasm."

"I understand you had a bond with him. He pit his strength and his bond with you against mine and my bond with Avis. Targeting a child? I didn't even have an opportunity to talk. If I did anything slower, Avis would be dead. While I don't expect you to understand my end, even less forgive me, he wanted me to spare you. I intend to keep my word, unless you force my hand."

Xephyr glances back at Avis, trying to avoid any trouble from stirring.

 

"You could do that. You'd just have to watch out for wyrms."
Roars echo off the mountain peaks.

"I don't think you understand the strength of a rider's bond. Your connection with Avis is nothing. And how it feels to be empty inside? I want to rip myself to pieces, but I won't, because then Lariuth would have died for naught."

Khione has reverted back to human form, shaking her head in utter confusion. Avis is perched on Khione's head, purring gleefully. Khione seems oblivious to this, though.

OCC: I think I might have made Khione talk in dragon form on accident. Oops, you saw nothing.

 

*A second dragon had be heard, its cry echoing for miles. A loud *BANG* and a -SNAP- can be heard, from around the area of the other dragon. A thud can be heard, followed by a cry for help. Sounds human.*

A third figure can barely be made out in the distance, clad in a muddy green, much like the dying grass around him. A bow clutched in an iron grip, quiver missing a single arrow
"2 down, one to go *Chuckle* I dont think they'll escape extinction this time. And i WONT let them evade me yet again" the archer says, his calm voice with a touch of malice, and steel.

"The fool. 'Finding the drakes' my arse. He's looking for it, i know it. He'll be next" he says, with a smirk

 

"Wait. What the hell am I doing? I can teleport."

"I do know, and I have felt empty. The only difference is, nobody made a sacrifice for me. In fact, every time I think of Mistress, I want to rend myself. I failed her. I couldn't do anything even if I tried, but I didn't try."
She falls to her knees, on the verge of tears.
"Mistress, my friends... All of them turned against me. All of it my fault.

I know what it means to be empty. But Lariuth was a criminal in my eyes. You serve him, I despised him. Make of me what you will, but don't seek pity. Else, I'll show you exactly the emptiness I lived in for millennia."
