Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

They keep their mouth shut, unveiling their wounds.
"Your crew... helped me..." They utter, intimidated.


Linoa tries mimicking what Stephanie did.

"You aren't curious?"

 

"Hmph. Is that why you were following me?" Aquira asks.


The results are the same, a light green liquid being poured into the cup.

 

"Well, ofcourse. But I think it's better to not know to much about my future."

 

"W-well... y-yes."


Linoa drinks it.

"The visions are vague. Mine simply showed me spending a day with a child... she seems to know the implications better than I did."

 

Aquira sighs, annoyed, rolling her eyes and swimming back to her ship.


Linoa begins to rapidly increase in size, eventually becoming as big as Stephanie; her size the same against Stephanie compared to when herself and Stephanie weren't massive.

 

"Have you met the child yet? Got a description?"

 

"A-and your daughter!" They shout.


"Well... hopefully Crystal gets the memo."

"They're not born yet, presumably."

 

Aquira stops, turning around slowly.

"What did you just say about my daughter?" Aquira asks, serious.


"Where'd he go?" Stephanie asks.

 

They fall silent, toxins obscuring them again.


"He's... good question."

 

"Well, look forward to that day. Hope it's a nice child."

 

"ANSWER ME!" Aquira shouts, angry and serious.


Stephanie looks a little worried, before she turns around.

"Mum? I'm home! I brought a couple of friends who wanted to see you." Stephanie shouts.

"I'm in my lab, sweetie." Praecantatia's voice shouts back.

Stephanie heads out of the kitchen, glancing behind at Linoa.

 

"I do too. I also kind of hope it turns out to be mine... except my partner was killed, and their dying wish was for me to never marry again."

"X-xephyr used to be my employer... I-I didn't know if things changed with her daughter..."


Linoa follows, leaving a small split-clone behind to watch for Crystal.

 

"You knew Xephyr?" Aquira asks, calming down a bit.


Stephanie heads through her mother's large house, various root-lined hallways and doorways within it. Stephanie eventually comes to a reinforced door which she opens, Praecantatia working on potions with her goggles down within.

"Mum, this is Linoa. We, uh, wanted to ask you a bit more about hell and Mortius. She knows a bit more about Abigail's soul than I do." Stephanie explains.

Praecantatia mixes a couple of potions together, swirling the bottle about before putting it into a stand, turning around and lifting her goggles.

"Greetings, Linoa. I'm Praecatnatia, the Goddess of Magic, as I'm sure you've heard from Stephanie." Praecantatia says officially, offering Linoa a friendly handshake.

 

"Who knows. Maybe some day you'll find a child in need of help, you could adopt it."

 

"Again, she was my employer."


"Yes, nice to meet you." Linoa says, accepting the handshake.

"Hopefully that's the case."

 

"Hmph. I'll let this slip this one time then." Aquira says, continuing to swim back to her ship.


"So what did you want to know?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"Best of luck."
Bardock looks outside the cave.
"Think I'll head back."

 

"W-wait... my contract said I should serve whoever Xephyr entrusted her daughter to... that's you, right?"


"I just figured, Stephanie seemed a bit flustered paging through your tome. I thought you might have an idea on what she was looking for."

"We killed a fair amount of time. Have a good evening, mister Bardock."

 

"Yes." Aquira says through grit teeth.


"Apparently Abigail's soul was trapped, but it was in the other reality, so I'm not sure how that would work with concerns to Mortius." Stephanie explains.

"Hm, that is a conundrum." Praecantatia says, thinking.

 

"Same to you, mister Siln."
He heads back to Ragnyon
