Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Your stone lands and bumps against the dragon's, wobbling around as it settles on the rounded side. It stops to the right of the dragon's.
"You've got a good arm. And the final thing - the stone must be completely in the corner area to win."

He throws another red stone, hitting his own as it rolls a bit on its side before stopping to the left of the center.

 

"The fish and wildlife around you, but not much. Are you sure you don't want our help?" The water guardian asks.


"Can you guess where she is?" Stephanie asks, smiling.

Stephanie and Linoa seem to be chatting.

 

They hesitate.
"I don't know... your captain's pretty ruthless. What would be in it for her?"


"I'd guess she's in the giant laboratory."

 

"I'm not sure...but I can't let you die with a wound like that!" The water guardian says.


"Well, yeah, but where?" Stephanie says, smirking.

 

"Thanks. Practice I suppose."
He tosses his blue stone towards the red one on the left.

 

The draconian nervously reveals a huge gash in their gut and a slit throat.
"W-well... it's not the worst I've had..."


"If she's the goddess of magic, I'm bound to be wrong with any response." Linoa laughs.

It bounces off a bit, landing flat-side down right next to it.
The dragon's next throw is a bit short, barely in the circle.

 

Bardock throws his next stone somewhere on the right of the middle.

 

The water guardian gasps, before swimming back to the ship.

A short while later, a few forest guardians brought down in bubbles by air and water guardians arrive at the cloud the draconian is making.


Stephanie sighs, but doesn't seem to be offended.

"She's in the middle!" Stephanie says, pointing to the gigantic tree coming from the centre island.

 

It hits your first rock and rolls on its edge out of the playing field.
"Well, no penalty if it rolls out, so you're still doing fine."

Another toss, this time sliding just on the edge of a corner space.

The draconian obscures themselves again, nervously peeking out after a minute.
"...What did she want from me?"


"...Isn't that her lab, though?"

 

"We didn't speak to the captain, but we want to help you!" A forest guardian says, their voice a little hard to hear through the water.


"Yeah, kind of." Stephanie says.

 

"Won't she get mad at you, then...?"


Linoa shrugs.
"Aaaanyhow, we heading inside?"

 

"Perhaps, but we can't let you die down here! We can deal with Captain Aquira later!" The forest guardian says.


"Yeah, lets go." Stephanie says happily, heading across the floating island.

It looks like it's quite a walk to the giant tree.

 

"O-okay..." They say nervously, showing their body.
Ominously, their wounds slowly secrete the poison they seem to be controlling.


Linoa sighs, following Stephanie.

Linoa's staff flies over to Crystal as she follows Stephanie.

 

This time, Bardock tosses his stone with more strength, trying to make it bounce onto one of the corner

 

It does bounce onto a corner, but not all the way.
"You're getting really close." The dragon comments.
Their next throw overshoots the square entirely.
"Ah, shoot..."

 

The forest guardians create a thick algae which moves toward the draconian, trying to latch it onto their wounds to heal it.


It takes a good forty minutes to make it to the end of the island, a large and secure looking wooden bridge connecting it to the next island.

 

The algae practically disintegrates once it comes in contact with the toxin, though the slit in their throat does manage to become smaller before the algae stops being effective.


Linoa glances at Stephanie.
"...Can we just teleport there?"

 

The forest guardians keep trying to get the algae to the draconian, creating more, thicker algae before sending it toward the draconian.


"We could try to, I guess." Stephanie says, taking some mage crystals out of her pocket which begin to circle around her.

 

Bardock tries to throw his stone the same way he did last turn, trying to hit his own stone into the corner.

 

It soon gets to the point where exponentially more effort is needed to get an ever smaller amount of progress.
The second batch of algae manages to close up a bit of the gut wound and a little more of the slit throat.


"I mean... this place is brimming with magic. I'd be surprised if teleportation doesn't work."

He succeeds.
"Good game. I haven't seen a human with your kind of arm in a while."
