"I'm sure I'd just piss off and wind up killing one if I spoke to one." He shrugs.

 

"Probably."
"Wait, am I ageless?"
"Erosion's a thing, but for the most part, yeah."
"Cool!"

 

"They're actually quite chilled out. It's sort of hard to piss one off in most cases." Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging too.

 

"In other words, don't sit in water for a few million years." Linoa laughs.

"A lack of respect leads to a lot of pissing off. The only guardians I've seen that I've thought were useful were air, earth, and water guardians. Any other I'd probably aim to avoid."

 

"Why do you think they specifically are useful? And likewise others useless?" Shadow Stephanie inquires, curious.

 

Voidfiller and I chuckle, and Crystal smiles.
"So, you were just living inside of Crystal?"
"Yeah. Imaginary objects aren't exactly the greatest things. The more you know, I guess."

 

"If you have land, you have a foundation. If you have air, you are able to support life. If you have water, then you open up the doors to many life forms. I believe that if you require a full race dedicated to preservation, then preservation is not truly what you seek."
Pause.
"If you couldn't tell, I've never met a utopia I didn't want to see razed... nor have I met one that I left standing."

"So you know absolutely everyone, by that logic... right? Well, everyone Crystal saw."

 

"Without fire, warmth, the land will become frozen and barren. Without plants, there will be nothing for the life to survive upon. If one life form becomes more powerful than the others, or one life form cannot survive, it will create an imbalance that will cause the downfall of life altogether." Shadow Stephanie explains.

 

"Mhmm."
Voidfiller nods.
"Is that like a thing you can do to everyone or just me?"
"Everyone."

 

Pause.
"...Stars exist for a reason. They do not require fire guardians - they do not require regulation. They live, they die - and so does everything. Stopping the cycle leaves one fatal weakness; the end of relevant adaptation."

"I would think it's like a shadow - just go inside someone. Possession isn't super uncommon."

 

"But can a star provide all the heat that a planet needs? What about underground?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

Crystal seems nervous.
"...Can you not do it to me anymore?"
"Wasn't planning to."
Voidfiller rubs Crystal's head, smiling.

 

"Planets too live, die, and provide heat. Perhaps I should share a little personal philosophy with you...

Pause.
"On the inside, it will last eternally - guardians have turned the planet into a god and serve it as if they were fanatic slaves. As a seer from the outside, it disgusts me."

"That being said... I suppose you are on our side of things in terms of our fight against the Hive Master?"

 

"Yeah."
Voidfiller nods.
"I'm not much for enslavement."

 

"...What?" Shadow Stephanie asks, understanding nothing.

 

"So, shapeshifting aside... do you use any other tactics to fight?" Linoa inquires, curious.

"Planets, while alive, provide heat like stars... some more than others. Water, earth, and air guardians could create countless habitats for life - fire guardians would be a mere convenience."

 

"Yeah. Lots, in fact. Here, I'll show you."
A bit away from the group, Voidfiller creates a table, which soon floats, breaks into what looks to be several hundred wooden spikes, and telekinetically assails the nearest dummy with all of them.

 

"...Hold on." Shadow Stephanie says, heading into the cryostasis room.

 

Sivius gives her a strange look before stepping aside.
...She's already there.

"So, you fight with summons, essentially?"

 

"Or just weapons. I'm not exactly the best swordsman, though..."
"You still have that grinder thingy though, right?"
"Well, that's easy to use."
