Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I know a bunch, but not all of them. Too many spirits to keep track of."
Pause.
"You know, as long as I'm helping you see the spirit plane, you should be able to communicate with them too."

"That's good. Sorry for disguising myself as one of your kind. I didn't mean to give you false hope... I guess I didn't think that through." She confesses, petting Onyx.

 

Onyx doesn't seem to mind, lying on her side as she's pet, purring happily.

 

"Well, there are a lot of spirits here."
Bardock looks at them.
"Tell you what. How about you point at one and I'll talk to him or her."

 

"What've you been up to?" Sapphire asks, sitting up.

"Better offer - you go find one you want to talk to, and I'll make sure you don't bump into any walls."

 

Onyx coughs up a bird feather, presumably from a hunted bird as she looks up at Sapphire.

 

Sapphire chuckles.
"We'll keep that between us."

 

"I might have an idea where to go. Let's see if I can find someone with the same taste."
Bardock heads back to the fourth floor entrance (hunter journal)
"Let's see."

 

Onyx meows, sitting and looking at Sapphire.

 

There's a few spirits nearby, though none of them are reading hunter journals.

"Well, I just figure... Artemis might not be thrilled if she finds out you snacked on the locals."

 

Bardock looks to the spirit closest to him.
"Excuse me.."

 

Onyx seems to pause for a second, before drawing a circle in the mossy dirt with her paw and meowing.

 

They turn, seeming to be a harpy.
"Yes?"

"You just chased it?"

 

"I'm.. uh.. kind of 'new' here. Does anyone maybe know a good story to read?"

 

"Nobody can answer that, but you. I take it you're also new to talking to spirits?"

 

"Yeah.. First time for everything I guess." He chuckles.

 

"People typically think they're dead when they first see one. Glad you're not one of those people."

 

"Huh. Well then."
There's silence as I seem to think for a bit.
"Thanks for telling me."

 

"I can't say it doesn't bother me, but... at the same time, a shred of me sees it as a precautionary murder. When she revealed her hatred for Ihra... it wasn't towards Iris. Something tells me Vei would have used her last shred of existence to kill Abigail anyways." Emerald admits.
"...None of this sits well with me, either."

 

"Well, Abigail wasn't exactly the nicest person, so I get your way of thinking, but I wouldn't call it a targeting, specifically. Aj and Stephanie were dealing with the tomes, and Abigail stepped in after the fight had already started."

 

As the Terraes surrounding her continue to assault her, a Terrae teleports into the air and fires an arcane beam towards her.
