"A ring
On your finger"
I trace as I slide her ring up and down her finger.

 

The cereal is quite filling, the milk turning a darker shade of chocolate brown the more the cereal is moved about in it. Once Sapphire finishes eating, she feels ready to tackle the morning.

She goes back to her room to finish the coffee anyways.

"Too weak for anything but a shortsword. Great. I love needing to stick my face in front of everything I'm trying to kill.

Blatant sarcasm aside, my first patrol didn't fare any better than yesterday. Insulted and spit at by my own neighbors was aggravating, and I'm wishing I could turn my blade on them. I got a good lashing for saying that out loud, but that was probably the highlight of the day.


Tomorrow, I'm supposed to go on a recon run a couple miles outside of the city. Something about monsters lurking about, but that sounds like crap to me."

Sapphire finds Artemis, hair messy and tangled, leaving her room once she gets upstairs. She doesn't seem to notice Sapphire at first, yawning and rubbing her eyes.

 

"Oh right"

"Morning." She says as she goes by.

 

"So if that rings what I think it is youll be fine just walking"
I lightly grab her hand again.
"So lets go"

 

"Mowning." Artemis says tiredly, going downstairs.

 

"Okay"
Sure enough, she has no problems walking this time.

Sapphire winds up downing her coffee and falling back asleep...

 

I make my way towards the bunk rooms.

 

Sapphire wakes back up at quarter to one, the sunlight leaking through her curtains a lot brighter, albeit less direct.

 

She goes downstairs again, finally seeming awake.

No dragging this time.
Once you arrive, she pauses.
"Which ones open"

 

"What do you mean"

 

"What beds dont belong to anyone else"

 

"Well Ill find one for you"
I say, starting to walking, looking for an open bed that doesn't look like it belongs to anyone.

 

There's a whole section on the far end of the bunk room that has nobody sleeping and no gear near any of the beds.
Probably a safe place.

 

I choose one of the beds, leading Amethyst to it.

 

"Hmm."

Katie and Artemis seem to be in the living room, watching a program about myths being put to the test. Myria isn't in the kitchen anymore, though it looks completely empty and clean. Just outside in the garden, Sapphire can see Myria meditating.
