"You could probably find a few stories in a journal." She shrugs.

Sapphire heads out, curious.

"I dunno
Its nice here
Nothing seems to happen"

 

"Okay
I mean I guess you could stay here
Theres certainly enough bunks in the bunk room"

 

Artemis' room is just down the hall from Sapphire, while there seems to be a slight bit of commotion downstairs; china and glassware clinking quietly.

 

"Where can I find those?"

 

"Where are the beds
That sounds so much nicer than dirt"

Sapphire cloaks and slinks downstairs, curious.

Above the entryway, still fourth floor."

 

"Ill lead you to them"
I take her hand.

 

"Thank you."
Bardock heads towards the entryway on the fourth floor.
"Okay, so where are these journals?"

 

The door to the living room seems to be shut; albeit the fuzzy glass panes that make up the door show that it's rather dark in there. Myria seems to be working in the kitchen, adding a few berries to a boiling pot of something that smells quite delicious. The toaster, close to the entrance of the kitchen finishes toasting it's bread, the golden brown toast jumping out of it before falling back into it's slots. There seems to be some wrapped up slices of fresh bacon, as well as a couple slices of bread, two whole tomatoes, some eggs and some pickles set aside in the middle of kitchen.

Near the entrance of the kitchen there seems to be a bowl of chocolate cereal, the puffed rice turning the milk chocolatey as a metal spoon rests beside it.

"Morning, Sapphire," Myria says as she stirs the pot, not even turning around, "Your breakfast is just next to you. I wasn't sure what you'd like, so I thought a bowl of cereal would do."

 

"I-I mean... I guess trying something new never hurts... much." She says, sitting down.

Seems there's a whole shelf of them.
Skimming through the titles, half of them are hunting journals...

She gets up, ready to follow.

 

"Let's see... this one."
He selects a book.

 

"I should probably carry you again actually"

 

It's titled "Six is Nothing - Hunting Giants"

"Whatever works"

 

Bardock opens it and starts to read.

 

I check her hands for rings, first.

 

There's nowhere to really sit down in the kitchen, apart from the floor.

"The dining room is just through there. Try not to make too much noise, Katie's still asleep in the living room." Myria says, a vine sprouting out one of the tomato's stems pointing out of the kitchen.

 

Preface:
"I am no hunter. I am an unfortunate side effect of greed and bad luck.
Of course, this was the opportunity for people to see me as more than the bastard child I was.

She gets up and heads to the dining room, still silent.

She has one this time.

 

The dining room table just has a bowl of fruit on it, leaving a lot of space for Sapphire's cereal bowl.

 

"Oh you have a ring
I dont need to carry you then"

 

"Hmm.."
He continues reading.

 

She sits down and eats it, still tired.

Intro
"The town guard overextended one day, and got caught out in a storm. Of course, that means more guards had to go in and replace them. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I was recommended by someone to be one of those replacements. I didn't meet any of the requirements; I was a recluse, I was outspoken, and I never had used a weapon prior.

Lo and behold, here I am, first day on the job. Skipped all qualification tests, and it's clear I'm the only one who would've failed. I suppose the worst is yet to come, but this is already hellish. Poor living conditions somehow got worse the moment I became part of the guard.

I'd think we would treat those that keep us alive better than this."
