Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie gets up and continues onward.


I look around, confused, before heading out of the fort.


Abigail coughs up steam, before jumping back into the ring of fire, the flames obscuring view of what's outside it.

The heat from the floor suddenly gets a lot hotter, so hot it melts away into magma, burning Ihra's? feet.


Artemis suddenly slides around Ihra?, grabbing her head and attempting to snap her neck.

 

"Maybe I could find a trail?"
I transform and use my nose to find a trail.

 

After a while, it becomes inconveniently evident that the stairway down is completely flooded... and that's where the trapdoors are.


The creeps are approaching again, no surprise.
Nothing else seems to change.


The rate of conjuration slowly rises, Ihra? simply choosing to begin levitating.
"I am not the pitiable weakling you called Ihra."

Ihra? explodes violently in omnielemental magic, reducing Artemis to a soul...

You find one...
...bumping into Sgavrinn as he approaches.
"Ah... hello."

 

Stephanie rolls her eyes, heading into the water again.


I sigh, flattening into the ground again.


The heat of the area seems to both counter and weaken Ihra? as she conjures the water.

Abigail suddenly leaps out of the flames next to Ihra?, slashing at her repeatedly with her chakrams before jumping back and throwing them both at her, pillars of flame and magma raising around the chakrams that tear into Ihra's? barrier.


Rineth, Ihra?, and everyone else around starts to feel a massive drain of their life force, Artemis' body starting to reform with the collected life. Any bystanders or living plants feel the drain too.

 

"OH HEY. DO YOU KNOW WHERE RAGNYON IS?"

 

Five trapdoors, and running out of breath.
How fun.
Well, drowning seems to make her sink and give her water breathing. That could be a solution.


The creeps begin to leave.
"Why not try door number two?"


"Ah, I'm sorry. Expedited shipping, huh?" She asks, a chilling aura (barely) countering the heat as she barely blocks each attack.
"Alright... let's roll."
The gravity in the arena begins to intensify.


Rineth struggles to stand, glancing at Artemis as Ihra? vanishes.

"Look up. It helps." Ragnyon sighs, sitting on Sgavrinn's back.
Sgavrinn sniffs at you, confused.

 

Bardock transforms back.
"Oh. Hi. Where were you? I was worried."

 

"A little late, sorry. Line was bigger than I thought."

 

"Right. Shall we go to this library then?"

 

"Sure, get on Sgavrinn. We'll get you there."

 

Stephanie lets herself drown.


I slide through the second door.


Abigail's chakrams return to her, before lighting on fire, looking a lot more deadly.

"You're too easy." Abigail says, smashing Ihra's? barrier with a chakram on each side.


The drain stops soon after a particularly younger looking Artemis seems to be where Artemis was killed, only looking about six or seven years old.

 

"Uhm, sure."
Bardock carefully gets on top of Sgavrinn.
"Like.. like this?"

 

She wakes up at the bottom, pale once again.


You find a hallway that seems to go on forever, with a button at the end of the hall.


Ihra? smiles.
"Maybe I should at least tell you my name? Common courtesy, no?" She says, disarming one of the chakrams to offer Abigail some time.


Rineth sighs.
"I'm calling off the reinforcements. She's leaving..."

Sgavrinn sighs.
"Well, since you're not sitting on his face, yes."
Ragnyon gets a groan in response.
"Oh... come on. Let's just go."

Sgavrinn starts trekking through the forest.

 

Bardock chuckles.

 

Stephanie heads through the fourth trapdoor at random.


I question how I can see something at the end of a hall that goes on forever, before just sliding down the hallway.


The disarmed chakram disappears.

Abigail becomes surrounded with fire, her chakram rapidly spinning around her before she screams angrily, massive pillars of fire erupting around her that seem to penetrate Ihra's? barrier.


Artemis picks up her scythe, which is far too big for her, before stumbling backwards and falling over from the weight of it.

 

It's a fake door, a spike trap sitting at the bottom.
...Underwhelming.


You still can't get to the end...


Ihra? lets loose a tear in reality, violently annihilating the surrounding area as she vanishes.


"One step at a time, Artemis..."

Sgavrinn keeps slowly walking through the forest, stopping at a portal.
"Yes, go through."
He does as told, and it suddenly becomes very dark - to the point you're temporarily blinded.

 

"Are we through?"
He rubs his eyes, trying to get his vision back.

 

Your eyes are slowly adjusting.
"Yep. Just a little farther."

 

Stephanie quickly grabs the edge of the trapdoor and pulls herself up, checking the other trapdoors.


I continue onward regardless.


Abigail brings the fire and magma around her to protect herself. Combined with her armour, Abigail just manages to barely make it out alive, only unconscious and badly wounded, in need of medical attention rather quickly; blood leaking through her armour.


Artemis gets up and picks up her scythe again, only to fall to the side as the weight of the blade is too much for her.

 

"Is this the library then?"
Bardock looks around a bit.
