Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I need to talk to you about your fire."

 

"Oh... can you bring it to her?" She asks, showing her painting of an alchemist's workshop.


"They seemed to snap from their mind control as they fell off the side of the edge of the highlands. They're down on the lowlands."

"What about it? Is this about the wolves who tried to eat me earlier? Because I'm not sorry if it is."

 

"Actually, yes. Those were my friends."

 

"Her mother said she'd bring her back to us when we found the tomes we're looking for, so you could always hang around with us until then!" Katie says happily.

"Lowlands, got it." I say.

"Thank you!" Artemis says happily.

 

"They tried to eat me. Obviously, I resisted."

"Oh, okay."


"Yep, no problem."

 

"From what they told me, they were just defending their territory that you trespassed."

 

Katie smiles.

"Where'd everyone go, though?" Angela asks nervously.

"Shall we get moving?" Artemis asks.

 

"Yeah, let's go."
I say, nodding, but turn to Leo one last time.
"Thanks again."
I start walking off.

 

"So how do you reckon we get to the lowlands without taking a painful drop?" I ask, walking alongside you with Artemis.

 

"If you want to take the long way, there's a ramp."
I suggest.
"There's also flight."

 

"You are immune to sunlight now, Aj." Artemis says, looking at me.

"I guess we could fly down then." I say.

 

"What's the problem with flying down in the first place?"

 

I just shrug.

"Aj could drop me." Artemis says.

"Like I'd ever let go of you." I say, smiling at Artemis, who blushes.

 

"There's no realistic worry for that. And even if he did drop you, he's more than fast enough to catch you."

 

"Exactly." I say.

 

I stay silent, just continuing to walk.

 

"So...how have you been?" I ask, trying to make small talk.

 

"Reading books, taking care of Amethyst, hammer training."
I tap the large hammer at my waist. One side is spiked.
"You've been collecting the relics?"

 

"Yeah, it's been a long process, but we've not had too much trouble." I say.

"Taking care of Amethyst?" Artemis asks, confused.

 

"Yeah. I thought I'd do something for her considering we beat her up for a relic she didn't know she had."
