Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie and her Shadow seem to have disappeared, though Myria exits the dining room, looking at Emerald.

"What's the meaning of this?" Myria asks, concerned.

 

Emerald tries to trace Stephanie and her shadow.
"Stephanie rejected her true mother, saying if she really loved her she wouldn't have let her go through the hell Stephanie went through. However, her mother was forbidden to see her... even now she will probably be shamed, and Stephanie's reaction is... probably devastating to her long-term mental health."

 

"From what I've heard, the experiences Stephanie has faced in her life are something a mother would've stopped." Myria comments.

Oddly, they appear to be inside the kitchen freezer.

 

"What would you do if you were forbidden from seeing Artemis?" Emerald asks.

She telekinetically opens the freezer, not actually looking inside it.

 

"I wasn't able to see her for the many years I was dead, since she wasn't around. However, I worried about her safety and helped her as I could when I found her hundreds of years later, as did my husband." Myria says.

There's a bit of a crash from the kitchen as frozen food presumably falls out, slightly distracting Myria.

 

"Yeah. Hey, have you seen Crystal around?"

 

Emerald glances into the kitchen.

"Exactly. Praecantatia found Stephanie earlier today. That doesn't give her much time to have helped her through her early years."

"Yeah, we were just sparring. Check the training room; he's probably gawking at all the spears again."

 

There's a light blue box of fish fingers visible, as well as a frozen chicken that seems to have slid across the floor, plastic packaging keeping the meat safe.

"True, though I guess Artemis didn't face the same trials and so felt differently when she brought me back to life and we got to meet." Myria says.

 

Emerald puts the food back in the freezer, tracing Stephanie again and closing the door.

"It's still... strange. Stephanie's birth in the first place was taboo among your gods."

 

Stephanie still seems to be in the freezer, somehow.

"It really depends on her father. Gods laying with mortals is generally disliked as it can introduce a fraction of their powers into the mortal's world should the child procreate. It isn't as precisely kept in order as guardian's powers are," Myria explains, "If Praecantatia decided to procreate with a random human, then she'd have been heavily looked down upon. If she wanted a child out of love, then it's considered a little less worse."

 

Emerald, annoyed, opens the freezer partway and looks inside herself.

"She did not procreate with a human. She had Gaia's blessing."

 

It looks like a normal freezer, shelves of frozen food stacked inside an icy box, however something at the back of the freezer, behind the shelves, looks a little strange.

"If Gaia allowed it, then I am sure she was hardly looked down upon for having a demigod child." Myria says.

 

Emerald checks the back of the freezer, attempting to pull off the back whilst keeping its contents from falling.

"Then... it doesn't make sense that she was pressured against ever reaching out."

 

"Perhaps you could ask her yourself." Myria says, shrugging.

The back of the freezer seems to lead into a tunnel of sorts, though Myria seems rather confused by Emerald's actions.

 

"Thanks. Helps a lot."
Voidfiller swiftly makes his way to the training room.

 

Enerald pauses.
"Would you mind talking to her for me? I have... questions. Aside from - how the hell did she fit a tunnel in the damn freezer?"

 

"Who? Stephanie or Praecantatia?" Myria asks.

 

A few draconians are sparring, a massive armory just a staircase away.

"Praecantatia." Emerald says, sending a clone into the tunnel.

 

Myria heads outside, leaving Emerald to do whatever it is she wants to do.


The tunnel is long and icy, though once Emerald gets far enough from the entrance, she can hear sobbing and Shadow Stephanie's voice.

 

She silently draws closer.
