Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Emerald startles and confuses a couple of humans, who rub their eyes and try to confirm with each other if they both just saw that.

"Yes?" Praecantatia responds.

 

"Sorry to yell at you. I often forget I'm mortal."
Pause.
"First, I'm heading over. This was to trace... I can't maintain these long links well."

 

"Oh, hold on then." Praecantatia says.

The link drops, and nothing happens for a bit before Emerald finds herself just outside the atmosphere of Praecantatia's floating islands, the islands seemingly appearing in front of her.

 

Emerald checks to make sure her tomes came with, warping them over if they didn't.
"This is remote as hell."

 

Everything around Emerald seemed to have been warped with her.

"It's only a few galaxies away." Praecantatia responds.

 

"Just a few? I suppose I was just a bit tired from hopping realities." She shrugs. "Anyhow... now that you have more than twenty seconds, I figure I should actually answer your questions before I brief you."

 

"Don't you want to come in first?" Praecantatia asks, a hole in the atmosphere opening near Emerald which creates a vacuum-like effect.

 

She goes with the pull.
"I suppose there's no need for me to be in a rush, either."

 

Emerald finds herself drawn to an island where she can see Praecantatia in her larger form working on a robotic golem, a few tools beside her. She seems to be in more summer-themed clothing, light blue shorts and a dark green tank top, a pair of sandals below her bare feet. She seems to have a few oil stains on her hands as she works on the golem, unscrewing and replacing parts.

 

"So... be it you or Celeste, I know you had a few questions for me. I'd like to get those out of the way first, if you don't mind." Emerald says, opening a few of her books and paging through a couple.

 

"Well, I guess I could ask about the hive master I heard about." Praecantatia says, shrugging as she continues her work on the golem, wind catching her relatively massive hair.

 

"Born on our homeworld, Kral'naad. Started out as a politician, but retired after a few centuries and studied psycology and telepathy. His experiments were at first used to make mind-control-proof devices for important figures, but he saw it as a race and managed to enslave the majority of the population in the span of a week. The gods frowned upon this, but they did not anticipate his ability to call upon the combined strength of his hive. Chronos, our god of time, was incapacitated as he took the infamous 'Million-Soul Strike' in our Gaia's stead. The rest... is where my kin are now."

 

"What's your Gaia like?" Praecantatia asks, fixing up the robotic golem and sending it on its way. She then picks up a massive glass of iced tea and sips it, another albeit smaller glass appearing next to Emerald, hovering in the air magically.

The heat of the sun shining on Praecantatia's islands makes the iced tea look even more appetising, ice cubes floating around in it.

 

Emerald takes a sip, trying to be polite.
"She has two forms, one chimeric and one of a faerie. She acts as the faerie queen, as well as the high goddess of earth and life."

 

The tea has a hint of peach to it, the flavours not overpoweringly strong but strong enough to be flavourful.

"We have a lesser god of faeries too, though I think Gaia just created her so she could pass the work onto her." Praecantatia says, shrugging.

 

Emerald nods.
"It also came up how I know so much, I believe? Or did I mix up trains of thought?" She asks, clearly still managing the library remotely.

 

"Are you a demigod?" Praecantatia guesses.

 

"Sort of. I was created artificially, as a preserver. However, if you want to see a real preserver, try cracking Peridot's secrets. He's pretty much the one thing I'm guaranteed to lose a fight with... and that is if my other siblings all teamed up against him."

 

"I...think Tenebrae mentioned a robot fighting tournament in her realm with someone called Peridot." Praecantatia says, drinking some more of her ice tea.

 

"Yes, her king foolishly made a promise to him, saying he would find worthy opponents for him. However, I don't think he realizes that the same power that nearly killed the shadow queen didn't peak half of Peridot's shield strength."
