Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Who?" Fia asks, hopeful, "I remember there was someone, I think his name was Sivius, who said he'd do something for me, but...he never came back."


Praecantatia shields herself from the hellhounds, approaching the flesh-and-bone creature.


"Sounds like a brute. Some people just don't understand balance." Caelia says, shaking her head.

 

"Voidfiller, huh? How come we haven't seen you before?"

"Sivius, and my sister Sapphire." Emerald says.


Many eyes open on the creature.
"Whoa-geez... is that a goddess?" It asks.


"A brute wouldn't be smart enough to have three high gods mind controlled. He now only has two, but I've heard reports of Gaia's forces falling... our Gaia, not yours."

 

"I travel around a lot."
Voidfiller shrugs.
"And I usually just use my real name for more formal things."

 

"He'd really help this time?" Fia asks.


"Yes, what are you?" Praecantatia asks, looking down upon the creature.


"Gaia was afraid to come because of some evil forces. I can only assume she meant him then." Caelia says.

 

"Are you familiar with our god-king, Eras?"

 

"Nope."

 

"He was going to help, but he's busy. He speaks for many lost souls who fail to find rest, and he often roams from place to place."


"A warpwyrm! I link this fine desert with the underworld!" It says enthusiastically. "Do you seek passage?"


"Yes. He's a threat to you too, but I doubt he's as big as a threat to you as he would be to Gaia."

"How about a draconian girl named Ihra?"

 

"Very familiar. She's pretty much dead, though."

 

"You know this how?"

 

"Oh..." Fia says, saddened.


"Sure, how do I get through?" Praecantatia asks.


"I'll do my best to keep that cur out of my universe then." Caelia says.

 

"Well, I met her, and she died helping a god. Why are you wondering?"

 

"However, Sapphire is much more eager to help. She's also probably listening in on us." Emerald says.


Rows of teeth unmesh to reveal a portal.
"You're a bit big, but just go through! I promise I don't bite."


"Avoiding repercussions is the hard part, not keeping him out."

"Because we also had someone tip us off that some living crystal was with them."

 

Fia looks around.


"You'd have a mouthful of pain if you did!" Praecantatia says joyfully, stepping in.


"He's a pest nonetheless." Caelia says.

 

The thing pauses before asking a question.
"Yeah. A lot of people are with them. What's up with the crystal?"

 

Nothing, but then Sapphire uncloaks.
"H-hi..."


"I don't doubt that!"
Praecantatia lands on somewhat fleshy ground, a city barely visible on the horizon.


"True."

"The crystal in particular we have little information about. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving us a little insight if you had any."

 

Fia blinks.

"You can really help me become real?" Fia asks.


Praecantatia runs toward the city, before opting to slide across the ground to move faster, magic under her feet.


"It must be problematic to deal with him." Caelia states.

 

"I know that he doesn't seem very threatening. He's taken up spear training, though."

 

"I think so..." Sapphire says.


It still will take hours at this rate...


"That's an understatement."

"Are you saying he's a threat?"

 

"Well, he knows pretty good magic, and he's training with a spear, but he's pretty nice unless you try to kill him or something."

 

"Praecantatia says that it's really hard for me to become real though. Something about my security so I don't get stolen," Fia says, thinking, "I don't want you to get hurt, I mean, I'm just a computer program after all."


Praecantatia charges herself up before blasting off at high speed toward the town, using her shield to roll along like a large hamster ball.


"Of course. He who challenges gods must have great power." Caelia says.
