Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I don't think there are any sicknesses relating to potions, hold allergies..." Emerald says.


"And what if that was never the goal?"

They catch on after a couple hits, teleporting around to keep you distracted as they arc lightning around the gloves.

The two push through the crowd to get to the bar, the others continuing their chaotic cheers, bets, and the like as they watch.

 

The thing continues to host the arena and wait for its drinks, although clearly tired. It almost looks like they haven't gotten a good rest in years.

 

Nobody pays it itself much mind, though its drinks come about ten minutes later.

 

"Thank you."
Its says, handing each a bag of ten gold pieces, but stopping one before they leave.
"Hey, where's the inn around here?"

 

"Backtrack to the center of town and head south. Two blocks down and on the left, five coins a night." They shout, barely audible over the crowd.

 

The thing gives a thumbs up, then starts drinking while continuing to make figures.

 

"Difference through realities I guess." Praecantatia says, shrugging.


"Then it is impossible to become lost, because you have nowhere to become lost." Caelia states.

 

"True." Emerald says.
"Anything else? Maybe you'd like to take a look around here? First-edition copies of books older than dynasties, various relics... probably a candy shop for you in here."


"Paradoxes are amusing." Sivius chuckles.

An hour later, a guard pushes their way towards it.
"What's going on?" She demands.

 

"I'm wrapping this up. I need some sleep."
The thing seems to have finished a figure of a chimera-like beast and a figure with a bow, continuing to form another figure. The thing doesn't look up at the guard.

 

"You woke up half the town, which falls under disturbing the peace. I'm going to have to take you in..."

 

The thing sighs.
"I'm not even making a profit off of this."
It says, though it's barely audible.
"Is there a bed where you're taking me?"

 

"A candy shop?" Praecantatia asks, excited.


"Perhaps we should have a bit more of a civilised conversation." Caelia says, putting her hands out and forming a rectangle with her fingers. Caelia looks at Sivius through the rectangle her fingers make, before expanding it. As Caelia moves her fingers apart, Sivius grows in size, before he's the same size as Caelia.

"There, much better." Caelia says, smiling.

 

"Yeah. And you'll probably walk, to be honest. Everyone that's woken up has joined your audience." The guard sighs.

"Not a literal one, but I'm sure there's one somewhere." Emerald sighs.


"I don't see why this is more civilized, but if you insist, then I'll go with it." He says, still stoic.
"So, what brings you here?"

 

"Am I allowed to at least finish this, then? It should take about two minutes for me to finish, then we can leave. As for the crowd, I honestly don't know."

 

"...Yeah, two minutes."

 

"Thanks."
The thing nods, taking the next two minutes to finish the figures, which end up being a warrior with a sword and shield, an archer, a mage, a rouge, and the beast. The thing also uses this time to alter the arena, making a small red circle on one side, a small blue circle of the other, and a golden flag on the beast's head. The archer and the warrior have a red mark on their heads, and are placed on the side with the red circle, and the other two human-like figures have blue marks and are placed on the side with the blue circle. As the beast is placed in the center, everyone suddenly understands that this is a capture-the-flag game, where the golden flag atop the beast has to enter a team's circle for that team to win. One team can win, or the beast can, by killing the other figures. Within five seconds, the game starts, and the thing looks to the guard and nods.

 

The guard uses their lance to clear a path through the crowd.
"Keep moving. The Supervisor already seemed impatient when I described you."

 

"Oh no. He probably thinks I'm a bad guy now."
The thing gets up and walks, visibly tired.
"Hey, look, I want you to know that I didn't mean anything bad by accidentally starting this."
That battle in the arena so far seems to be working well, each team trying to get the flag.

 

"Nobody knows what he thinks." She says, walking just ahead of it

 

The thing just stays silent, slowly lagging behind the guard, but jogging a bit to catch up when too far behind.
