Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm assuming she came here with her friends? I'd like to cover their fare as an apology gift."

 

The thing neatly puts its glasses aside, waiting for the next round.

 

"She's already paid the fare though." Gail says, giving an awkward smile.

 

"I know, I meant for their next ride."

Another set of five, all a hue of red, are slid onto its table.

 

"Oh, I guess so. The usual fare is 50 gold for a trip to the next station and back." Gail says.

 

Alice summons another coin bag.
"She's in a group of three...? Or four?"
Pause.
"Bah, whatever. A diamond'll cover it, right?"

 

The thing takes the lightest red first, eventually just going down the line with time in between.

 

They seem to be fruity cocktails, the darker the color corresponding with a different and more intense taste.

 

Gail nods.

 

Alice desummons the bag and leaves a diamond coin.
"That's for her friends' next trip, and I was going to wait here to take the ride you insisted on giving me for free."

 

Setting the glasses aside, the thing waits for the next round.

 

"Oh, you wanted to ride to the next station?" Gail asks.

 

The barkeep seems to have forgot about its third round.

"Sure. Easier than, like, walking on air." Alice says happily.

 

Alice heads over to a small control panel, and a Skyrail cart moves down to the station for Alice.

 

Alice heads inside the cart.

 

Gail shuts the door, and the cart starts moving along it's path toward the other mountain range.

 

Alice watches the view as the cart moves along.

 

The view is quite pretty, clouds casting shadows on the ground below, a river running through the vast, overgrown canyon with a few waterfalls leading into it, and birds flying through the blue, if cloudy, sky.

 

Alice relaxes, enjoying the ride.

 

Giving the barkeep the benefit of doubt, the thing waits for a little longer.
