"Probably, but there's no doubt you're a shapeshifter, so any other shapeshifter will probably greet you."

 

"That's some consolation. What race works at the bar in the center of town?"

 

"I kind of want to stay here for a bit." Holly thinks, closing her eyes.

 

"Which one? Maw or Vortex?"

"I'll drag Gaia back here if you die." Alice thinks before leaving Holly and heading to the hospital.

 

"Maw. Eran recommended it."

 

"That barkeep's drow, I think..." The guard says, trying to think of a more certain answer.

 

The hospital is sure enough next to the shops, though it's less of a hospital and more of a clinic.

 

"You don't go much?"

 

Alice heads inside, trying to calm herself down.

"Not to Maw. Then again, my cousin owns Vortex, so I know that one like the back of my hand."

 

A man with a short, brown haircut, glasses and a small moustache waits behind a desk in the entrance to the clinic, looking up once Alice enters.

"Yes? How can I help you? Are you feeling unwell?" The man asks, smiling and hopeful.

 

"I'm fine, but I was wondering if you had something that helps recoup life force." Alice says.

 

"Life force? Is someone hurt?" The man asks, getting up from his chair.

 

"Yes, Holly is." Alice says, before hesitating.
"...I, uh... also need to go back down in the mines, I think..." She mutters.

 

"Where is she currently?" The man asks, looking like he's getting ready to leave.

 

"She wanted to rest and lay at the bottom of the lake, but I can get her to shore."

 

"Alright, I'll go see her immediately." The man says, getting a bag of things before rushing past Alice.

The girl with darker coloured skin whom Alice possessed glances through a doorway. She appears to be a nurse at the medical clinic.

"Is everything alright in here? I heard Harvey leave." The girl asks.

 

"In here, yes. However, I should go as well... I found Holly unconscious and covered in slime a decent ways down in the mine. She said she wanted to rest and lay at the bottom of the lake." Alice says, looking about to leave as she summons her parasol.

 

"Hm, I should go assist Harvey," The girl says, heading toward the exit, "I'm Maru, by the way. We haven't really met."

 

Alice chuckles.
"I'm Alice, but I think we've already crossed paths." She says, leaving and heading towards the lake.

 

Maru follows her out, headed in the same direction.

"Have we? I don't remember meeting you before. I've seen you around town a bit though." Maru says.
