Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Hit."

 

Gail seems to be working inside the station, watching the Skyrail go.

 

Alice goes inside the station, mainly just watching the Skyrail.

Eight.

 

"Over."
It rolls its eyes, putting the cards to the side.

 

He goes to reshuffle, but...
"Over what?" Someone else says, seemingly from nowhere as the guard, startled, jumps.
"Ohhh shit..." He sighs.

 

"Oh, hey Alice. Do you want your ride on the Skyrail?" Gail asks, noticing Alice.

 

"Maybe later. I was wondering if you knew where Holly went." She says, still watching the Skyrail.

 

"I haven't seen her today, but she sometimes likes to explore those old mines." Gail says.

 

"Hm?"
The thing doesn't seem very startled, looking at the new person.

 

"I went down there last night, I guess I'll check again. If I had a more physical body I'm pretty sure I'd be spending today in bed." She says, thinking unhappily about her trip down there.

 

It's a more heavily armored guard.
"Playing with visitors again?"
"I... don't really have a way out of this, do I?"
"No. You really don't."
"Well..."
"Finish your shift, and give me the cards."
He starts gathering the cards, letting out a sigh.

 

"You're his supervisor, I'm guessing?"
It says, standing up, its folding chair disappearing.

 

"Mining is tough work." Gail says, nodding.

 

"Oh, god, I don't even want to think about doing things like mining with a pickaxe." Alice chuckles. "Anyhow, I'll go check there. Thanks again, and I hope the money helps." She says, turning to leave.

"I am. And you are?" They ask, turning to it.

 

"See you." Gail says, waving.

 

Alice heads straight to the mines, checking for any signs of Holly.

 

She doesn't appear to be on any of the four floors down, or the fifth if Alice took the elevator.

 

Alice heads down to the fifth, checking to see if she made any forward progress.

 

Strangely, everything appears to be different than when Alice first checked it; new cave formations and rocks, as well as ore deposits. It's like the mines reset overnight.

 

"Maxwell. I thought I'd accept... uh,"
It turns to the guard, realizing he hasn't even gotten his name.
"His request to a game, he seemed bored and it didn't look like many people were coming along."
