Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Alright, best of luck." Artemis says, growing a training dummy a short distance away.


The waves caused by Xlentia's landing seem to rise higher and higher, before Gaia herself forms from the waves, bursting out of the water.

"Hey!!!" Gaia says happily.

 

The thing checks what time of day it is.

 

Sgavrinn keeps away from the training dummy, keeping an eye on Artemis and the dummy.

Alice heads down, collects the items, then heads back to the community center and places the items near the list.


"Hi! Sorry I'm late, my brother wanted to talk to me about something."
Pause.
"Sooooo... dragon ride? I like flying over your home, really nice place."

A little bit past noon.

 

The thing walks around the village a bit, seeing what it has to offer.

 

Very little. Craft shops, a trading post, and a small grocery store seems to be the bulk of it.

 

Artemis draws and fires her bow, getting an arrow directly in the centre of the dummy's head, before aiming another arrow and firing it into where the dummy's heart would be.


A faerie seems to have been watching, bundling the items up in a small package and carrying them back to the hut in the entrance room of the community centre. Another faerie places a large box of soil nutrients in front of Alice, before disappearing.


"Yeah! It's really fun riding on your back!" Gaia says happily, clearly in a good mood.

 

Alice takes the box and checks for any updated lists or scrolls.


"I want to make a few stops, but it doesn't matter when I do it. Anywhere in particular you want to fly over?" Xlentia asks, checking to make sure she's levitating above the ocean floor.

 

There appears to be another scroll in the opposite room, asking for some more items. One of sets of items seems to be items from the wild: A horseradish, a leek, a daffodil and a dandelion.

Alice hears someone else enter the community centre.


"Umm...not really. I want to see where you want to go!" Gaia says happily.

 

Alice checks the entrance, a bit nervous.


"Alright! A friend of my librarian wanted me to fly over her new hometown here on Earth, and then I want to make sure my child is okay." Xlentia says, crouching a bit. "I'm ready to go when you are."

 

It seems to be Holly, a few fish in hand which she puts near the broken fish tank. She doesn't seem to notice Alice.


Gaia climbs on happily.

 

Alice hides up against a wall, modifying the tone of her voice a bit.
"Hey... It's Holly, right?" She asks.


Xlentia takes off, aiming to first glide over Alice's hometown.

 

Holly jumps, holding her fishing spear ready and looking around nervously.


Gaia holds on happily, looking around.

 

Alice doesn't show herself.
"Hey, hey... I don't want trouble. Just to talk."


Xlentia flies over wherever, slowly adjusting her course to eventually soar overhead Alice's hometown.

 

Holly nervously and slowly heads toward the exit of the community centre.


"So how have you been, Xlentia?" Gaia asks, sounding calmer.

 

A shadow crystal sits at the entry.


"I've been okay, I guess. Fairly bored, but I have a few days respite since the Hive Master called a cease-fire for a couple days." She says. "The only time I really get to go out is when I come over here to give you a ride."

 

Holly leaves the community centre quickly, scared.


"It's really nice you come over here just to give me a ride," Gaia says happily, "It certainly makes it easier to get around and see how things are."

 

Alice hides in Holly, entering while she has her back turned and leaves.


"I didn't know this was easier. I figured you could get anywhere near-instantly by becoming one with the wind. I'm glad I could help."

 

Not stopping, the thing heads to the next village.

 

Holly runs to the river in the town, diving into it and swimming up to the lake, before glancing behind herself and seeming to calm down.


"It's a little hard to control where I go like that without causing problems for my children." Gaia says calmly, seeming to enjoy the air around her.

 

Alice waits to see if she goes towards the bonzai tree.


"I don't know if I help much... I probably scare most of them off, even though they don't know I'm often called the Great Destroyer."

This one's barely active, most huts empty.
