Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We need to wait for her, hopefully we'll be able to see her tomorrow." Artemis says happily.

 

I teleport several meters back, dodging the attack, before spraying the draconian with a blast of water.

 

"Oh, okay." Sgavrinn says, standing up.
"Should we go back to auntie Alice's house?"

He holds his ground, using his chainblades to help block the blast.

 

"Yes, I think she'll want to hear what the faeries have said." Artemis says happily, climbing onto Sgavrinn's back.

 

He happily trots back, keeping an eye on anything he might step on in order to avoid it.

 

A few squirrels dart out of the way and up trees as they see Sgavrinn approach, and a few people smile and wave to Artemis as Sgavrinn heads through town, Artemis waving back.

 

"That's nice to know."
Pause.
"Where do you recommend to stay around here?"

 

He glances at the people as he goes.

Once he gets back to Alice's house, he lays down to let Artemis get off before sitting by the river.

"Anywhere's fine. Consistency's big 'ere."

 

Artemis heads up to Alice's front door, knocking on it.

 

Alice jogs up from the staircase below her house.
"Hey, sorry! Got busy with something." She says, a bit winded. "Did you get anything?"

 

"Might not stick around for long, then. Tryin' to waste time and find somethin' to do at the same time."

 

"Yes, I got an explanation of what the faeries want from you." Artemis says.

 

"'s always a skirmish up'n the forest."

"From me, or from the other creatures?"

 

"The whole contract deal you told me about." Artemis says.

 

"That wasn't meant for me, though... was it?"

 

"Is that so? What direction's that in?"

 

"It was. They've chosen you as sort of...someone special. They believe you'll be able to gather them the items they need in order to repair the community centre, and in return, will give you gifts and will be able to repair parts of the town too," Artemis says, "I'm not sure why they've chosen you, they just see something in you."

 

"North'n a bit west. Nobody gets'along there."

Alice pauses.
"...what did they need?"

 

"Well, thanks for the tip. And for the drink. I should get going, now."
The thing checks to make sure the beer glass is empty.

 

"They said they had written out lists of items for you that they needed, stuff like parsnips, carrots, wood, stone...even money, actually. They said each part of the community centre had it's associated element, in a sense, and the items they needed related to it." Artemis explains.
