Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Bored again, the thing descends, looking over the statue one last time.

 

This time, it can see part of the design making faux-crevasses in the ground, three jewels set around a ring base of the statue.

 

It sees if it can move the jewels.

 

It can't, but each one feels... strange. One feels like solidified waves, one feels like loose dirt, and the third feels like a gentle breeze.

 

Relaxed by the feelings, the thing summons a hammock and lets time pass, occasionally touching a jewel.

 

"Sgavrinn's my dragon." Artemis says to Louis, petting Sgavrinn.

"Oh, is he? He caused us a bit of a fright when Alice brought him to town, but if he's the pet of a forest guardian like you, I'm sure he can't do anyone any harm." Louis says happily.

 

Alice smiles.
"He's a bit playful, though, so the forest is probably a safer place for him to be."

Summoning seems to be blocked, but the grass is soft.

 

The thing mutters something before just laying down in the grass.

 

Nobody even approaches it.

 

"Luckily I have one near home." Artemis says happily.

 

Eventually, it just flies upwards and out of the village, and out of the storm.

 

"The distaste for dragons does rule out a sea dragon as a peace offering for Holly. She still thinks I'm going to kill her or something... I don't know why."

The four-winged beast seems to still be watching it.

 

The thing flies up to them.
"Hi there, again."

 

"Are you through with your self-guided tour?" She asks, cold as ever.

 

"Sort of. I don't really get why this place has such heavy protection."
The thing wonders lightheartedly.

 

"What did you do to her to make her think that?" Louis asks.

"Who's Holly?" Artemis asks.

"She's a water and forest guardian hybrid, half like you! She usually spends her time in the lake near to the mines." Louis explains.

 

"For defense."

"I'm a shadow. I had the same problem with Gail initially, but Holly keeps running away. I rejected her peace offering because if anything, I should be the one making the offering if it's even neccesary in the first place."

 

"If she gave you a peace offering and you rejected it, that generally means you want war or at least don't want peace." Artemis says.

Louis nods, agreeing with Artemis.

 

"I didn't know that's how it worked. Still, I don't want her stuff."

 

"If she offered you something personal then by rejecting it you've only made things worse." Artemis says.

"You could probably speak to her about it actually, Artemis. I'm sure she'd be more willing to talk to you than Alice." Louis suggests.
