Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Muffy soon puts her face in front of the goggles, confused.

Linoa busts through a portal.
"Damnit, you!" She says, telekinetically grabbing Muffy who just snorts in response.
"Sorry, Aj..."

 

"You made it in time for the party!" I say happily, taking a gift wrapped in dark red paper.

 

"Oh, right! I've got something once you open that!" She says happily, though gets annoyed as Muffy grapples onto her snout.

 

I open the gift and take out a large, dark hooded cloak with pockets on the inside.

"Aw, Stephanie!" I say, looking at Shadow Stephanie.

"Figured you could use a new one, your current one is getting a little worn out." Shadow Stephanie says, winking at me.

 

"Okay, mine's not much, but open this when you're ready."
She hands you a vial with fluid crackling with electricity, still corked.

 

"Ooh, what's this?" I ask, starting to uncork the vial.

 

I fly back, summoning my scythe and swinging it, sending a shockwave towards the draconian.

 

Linoa smiles as non-light-emitting sparks fly skywards from the bottle and explode into equally lightless fireworks, yet they're still visible.

They seem able to counter it with an overcharged bolt of lightning, but by their reaction it seems to have been an accident.

 

"Whoa!" I say, looking up at the fireworks and smiling. Everyone else seems to be too, even Tenebrae.

 

"It took forever to get rid of the light, but now it feels worth it." Linoa says happily. "And now that I have the recipe down, I can make more!"
She turns to Stephanie.
"You work with alchemy, right? I could give you the recipe later."

 

"Yes, I do and I'd love that. I can see this fireworks effect having many alchemical benefits." Stephanie says happily.

I look at where the gifts were, only to notice they all seem to be gone.

"I do have a gift for you, Aj, though I must ask Artemis first if I can give it to you." Tenebrae says, ushering Artemis over to her and whispering to her.

 

"Maybe you can come over to my cave sometime? I've got centuries of alchemical work recorded over there."

 

"Sure." Stephanie says happily.

Tenebrae and Artemis talk to each other for a bit longer, before Artemis nods and Tenebrae walks over to me.

"Are you ready for my gift to you?" Tenebrae asks, smiling at me.

"Uh, sure? What is it?" I ask.

Tenebrae focuses for a moment, before grabbing me and kissing me, catching me completely off guard as Artemis watches with her arms folded.

 

Xlentia bursts out laughing, Alice chuckling as well as Emerald just sighs.

Muffy seems entertained by Artemis' reaction.

 

I end up just letting it happen as the area around Tenebrae and I seems to darken.

Tenebrae eventually lets go, myself dropping to the ground slightly from Tenebrae's taller form.

"I-I...uh, what?" I ask, confused.

"For your birthday, as well as your efforts as a king of my realm and an adventurer with your friends, I have given you a few special powers. I'm sure you'll find your abilities are no longer dampened by sunlight, and having resurrected Alice, I learned a thing or two about her powers. You should be able to hide in beings a lot stealthier now, though I can't say the same for Shadows." Tenebrae explains.

"Oh, uhm, ok, thank you my goddess." I say, still rather confused but bowing.

Tenebrae smiles, "It's still rather cute when you bow to me like that." She says happily.

 

"Are you trying to make him outstealth me?" Alice pouts.
"Oh, please. Your powers are back... Tenebrae just doesn't want you using them in a reality that isn't war-torn." Emerald adds.
"But black holes and explosions are fuuun!" Alice whines tauntingly.
"You could always be useful and get to helping us..."
"Yeah, fine, you win. I'll shut up."

 

"I can't lie in the fact that I have a slight more bias toward the king of my realm." Tenebrae says, winking at me.

"You can still hide inside Shadows without them devouring you though, that's better than what I can do." I say.

 

"Yeah, but you can't get devoured in the first place."

 

"True, but my energy can still get sapped a bit." I admit.

 

"I didn't know that." Alice comments.

A third portal opens up in front of you, a draconian girl younger than Ihra when you forst met her stepping out trembling with heavy robes and an extremely powerful shield around her.
"U-uh... e-e-excuse me? A-are you mister... u-uhm... A-j?" She utters, terrified.
