Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, this is an interesting body to inhabit..." I say, observing my new form.

"Oh cool, you have that weird sword-mace the terminator has." Abigail says, observing my weapon.

I twirl the mace around a bit, eventually hitting myself in the face with it.

"AGH! This weapon is dumb! Katanas are better and cooler!" I say, annoyed at the weapon.

A short distance away, Artemis begins to make a few bird calls. They echo through the trees; they're rather soothing.

"How about a sparring match eh?" I say, summoning Shadow Katana to my hand, looking over at Aura, "It'll be interesting to be bound to a body.".

 

Trees snapping catches your attention.

...it was just Rineth stretching.

 

Aura looks at you then looks at Idala.
Idala is busy chanting at her figure. She then gains some black and purple scaled armour and two daggers with a similar colour.
"With Aura or me? Either way, if you want to."

 

I observe the dagger for a moment, and smile.

I continue to smile as I look up while AJ is expressing his evidently preferred weapon.

 

I approach the three playfighting, putting my tail between them.
"I guess, while I'm here... why is drelsh so valuable to a dragon?"

Artemis doesn't seem too happy, though she continues making bird calls nonetheless.

I twirl Shadow Katana around in my hand, spinning it up and catching it, "Bring it." I say, pointing Shadow Katana at Idala, smiling.

 

A green-scaled dragon pokes its head out in fromt of Artemis.
It breathes on the ground, and a flower grows.
It backs up and lays down, lookig at Artemis.

 

"Remember, this is just the figure. Don't hesitate to try to kill me, because it's just the figure. If you kill me, the figure shrinks again and I'll just be normal. And you can't kill a real person or being while in this form."
A red aura starts glowing around her. She unsheathes her daggers crosses them over each other in an 'x' shape in front of her.

 

Xephyr watches from the side, looking at a dragon-like figure.

 

Artemis seems almost half-awake, somewhat entranced. She reaches out the the dragon gently and carefully, to pet it.

A few green orbs float lethargically between the trees. On closer inspection, these are actually forest spirits; a few echoing the bird calls Artemis made. A thick blanket of moss begins to grow in Artemis' small forest, some forest spirits floating up from it, flowers following them.

The whole forest seems to have a calming atmosphere about it.

I sprint up to Idala before suddenly rolling around her, leaping up behind her, spinning Shadow Katana with my body as I do so.

 

The red dragon turns and utters a weak snarl at you. They start to pounce at you. The odd snow dragon turns into a full grown hawk, flying at the red dragon with talons outstretched. The mage mutters something and the hawk reverts back into a dragon, falling to the floor. The dragons all blink at each other, unsure of what just happened.

"First of all, out histories been passed through generations, so it might not be 100% accurate. But supposedly, when the dragons first arrived here from somewhere in the Cyntherna Mountains, the drelsh came with them. It grew and spread all during the first Dragon Wars, until the dragons had all fled. Then it just stopped for unrecorded reasons. When the dragons came back from who knows where and made peace with us, we found that they'd become attached to the drelsh. Some dragons would spend centuries guarding just a tiny piece of it. We tried to break their attraction with the drelsh as best we could through magical means, but it only worked on dragons bound to a rider. The Cyntherna Mountains are kind of a mystery. Hardly anyone ever gets to explore it because it's so far out and wild dragons attack travelers so frequently. Our few mining operations there have to be heavily guarded, but they do bring in large hauls of drelsh."

 

She recognises it as a Wind Dragon like the one from earlier. However, this one seems to be slightly larger than the previously seen Wind Dragon. Its scales also seem more sharp and less rusty.

Idala leaps vertically into the air, almost as if she were flying. She bounces along the ground, spinning her dagges as she goes, towards Aj.

 

I roll out of the way, before slicing at Idala from the side, I seem to focus on the daggers.

 

It lays its head and neck on the ground, letting Artemis do so.
It hums a few notes faintly, then just lays there.

I start poking the red dragon gently with my tail.
"I may be willing to go if you need more. This, however, is rather interesting... I'm too young to be a parent, but seeing youth still has a certain... something... to watching them grow up."

If the figure expanded into a wind dragon, then Xephyr takes a few steps back.
Otherwise, she picks up the figure and tries to examine it more closely.

 

Idala tries to knock away the attack and then roll under the blade, daggers outstretched and ready to cut upwards.

OOC: Wait, which figure? When I said that there was a dragon-like figure, I meant that it was one of the monster figures and that it looked very similar to a dragon. It then expanded into a wind dragon when Idala chanted to it.

 

Artemis gently pets the dragon, her eyes closing. Artemis eventually falls asleep against a tree in her small forest; she seems peaceful.

A few flowers begin to grow around Artemis and the dragon.

I jump backwards, ready to counter Idala's next attacks.

 

Idala glides through the air, her red aura turning to white. Her daggers spin towards you very quickly.

 

I gracefully dodge out of the way of the daggers, only managing to avoid them slightly, switching my focus to Idala.

I sprint away from Idala for a bit, before sprinting back and taking a large leap towards Idala, readying Shadow Katana for a devastating attack.

 

In that case, Xephyr takes a step back, unsure about the figure's summon.
"Master? Is that... uh..."

The dragon follows suit, but doesn't fall asleep. Rather, it just lays there.

"Maybe you're not so bad after all," Riihs whispers.

 

Artemis lays asleep peacefully. A few forest spirits float around her, some inspecting the dragon laying in front of her. They don't seem to be hostile, just curious.

The forest spirits have no way of communication, they simply hum a few notes at the dragon. A few forest spirits rest on Artemis' shoulders, head and lap, falling asleep too.
