Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The eggs seem to be healthy and undamaged, the shells unmarked by external forces.


"Oh, hey Emerald." I say.

 

Sapphire checks the developing youth inside to make sure the dragons inside are still alive.


"Finally, you came." She sighs. "Xlentia's getting super impatient."

 

The dragons inside appear to be healthy and growing fine.


"What did she need me for?" I ask.

 

Sapphire dispells the illusion and remains cloaked, waiting for the dragon to approach.


"She wouldn't tell me, and that armor makes reading her mind hard. She said she wanted you and all your friends, though."

 

The dragon soon arrives, roaring at Sapphire.


"Well, I think most of them are out doing their own things. I could try and find them though." I say.

 

She kneels, bowing.
"I chased off the intruders. I am at your mercy." She says timidly.


"All due respect, I'd prefer that. Keeping an impatient Xlentia cooped up in her chambers is... problematic."

 

The dragon roars again, charging up an electric shot. It'd probably be wise for Sapphire to escape lest she become electrocuted.


"So...shall I meet you back here?" I ask.

 

She vanishes, though comes back fully cloaked an hour later.


"Yes. Can you do it in twenty minutes?"

 

The dragon doesn't seem to notice her, though it's protecting its eggs.


"I can attempt that." I say.

 

Sapphire continues monitoring the dragon, offering a telepathic link but remaining silent.


"Thank you. Meet back here at the gates, then?" Emerald asks.

 

The dragon doesn't connect the link, simply watching over its eggs.


"Yeah. See you soon." I say before disappearing.

 

Sapphire checks outside the cave before leaving.


Emerald waits there, glancing at the number of nearby guards.

 

There doesn't appear to be anything outside the cave, apart from a few birds.


What looks like only two guards stand by the gate, though she can see more patrolling the walls surrounding the palace.

 

Emerald telepathically links with one of the guards.
"We're a day late for his birthday by now, I'm guessing?"

 

"Unfortunately, though I'm sure he'll still appreciate anything you have for him. It's only a day." The guard says.

 

"We have a lot. Do you mind evacuating the fields? We can't have a giant belated surprise party without a giant goddess."

 

"I'll send word to have people evacuated." The guard says.

 

"She'll be here in twenty minutes. I tried to let Tenebrae know what was happening, but she seemed busy as usual. Anyhow, thanks... and don't let the word get to your king."

 

"I'll have it handled through the queen." The guard says as there seems to be a bit of commotion on the wall.

 

"Thank you." Emerald says, glancing where the commotion is.
