Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I like your humor. Anyways, can you please care to explain why I feel less like a flower and more of something....less flower? I sort of transferred my soul at the last minute, and a yellow flower was the nearest thing, so, my bad."

"This is surprisingly useless information. Well, I already got some very important info. Next time I fight Death, I'll need to remember to destroy that Crystal" I mutter, still intent on listening.

 

We start cooking some bacon.

"Bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips." I say, as I start placing bacon in the pan.

"That's incredibly unhealthy if you eat the amount of bacon those people use." Artemis says, adding wood to the fire.

"Except I'm a Shadow so I'm not really affected by that sort of thing." I respond.

Abigail focuses on keeping the wood lit, "This bacon was a good idea." She says, eyeing the bacon.

"Do you think I was too hard on him? The Drake guy, I mean." Artemis says, watching the fire.

This information sounds important.

"Oh please, after what he did? Why would you even want to spare him. Voiding him was probably the best idea you could've had." I say, flipping the bacon.

"He made it rain over me, which he knew would hurt me. I think he deserves what he got." Abigail says, with a slight anger to her voice.

"I know but...maybe there was a shred of humanity left in him. Part that wanted to apologise for what he did and become friends. Are you sure he had no chance at retribution?" Artemis says, feeling almost guilty.

"'Oh, we shouldn't throw this serial murderer in jail because he wants to apologise and be friends!'" I say, "I understand where you're coming from, but some people need what's coming to them."

"I just feel sort of bad for voiding him without any sort of questioning of his motives. I mean, sure, he was bad, but maybe he had a reason; like it was in retaliation to something?" Artemis says, guilt lacing her words.

"Well, that's in the past. Drake is gone forever, let's just try to forget about him." Abigail says with a serious tone.

"History is always written by the victors, and the bad people never see themselves as bad." Artemis says, remorse in her voice.

"It's too late for any of that though. Maybe we did something wrong; maybe we could've been friends, but we removed that chance when he was voided." I say.

"Let's just enjoy some bacon and forget about our troubles for a bit." Abigail says, extinguishing the fire below the pan.

I serve Artemis and Abigail some bacon, as well as myself. Artemis seems a little hesitant to eat, lost in her thoughts, but eats anyway.

 

"Procrastinating troubles. Just like humans. Well, I can't hate them for it. It's the only reason I'm here, now."
I mumble, taking mental notes while I observe the trio.

 

I seem to overhear what you're saying.

I walk over to you with a plate; containing a slice of bacon.

"Yo, 13, you want some bacon?" I ask, offering the plate.

 

"No thanks, I'm fine."
I start to speak quieter, so Artemis doesn't hear me.
"I only have about 3/4 of the human body systems. Digestive is not one of them."

 

You can't detect the reflection. However, you can detect that Idala does have a new reflection already.

"You are still a flower where you were. You are also here, linked to a stone figure I happen to have. Now..."
You suddenly see something which looks completely different to where aj and the others are. You still see them, but, strangely, you see the new place at the same time.
You are on an island. The part you are currently on is raised above the rest of the island and toward a headland. There are ruins everywhere nearby and also a few in the distance on a beach, seemingly at what used to be a port. There is also a lake surrounded by a heavily overgrown forest.
You suddenly realise that you are actually in a small wire cage.
"If you're wondering about the cage, it allows you to see your surroundings. It isn't like you could move anyway."
You realise that the cage is attached to the belt of the figure the presence belonged to.
And that figure is...
... the half-robot you saw earlier.

 

"Interesting..." I mutter, still listening. "Maybe they aren't just all cold-blooded monsters." I laugh a little bit. "Emphasis on maybe. Of course, I better not assume else I make an ass out of them and me."

OOC: Just FYI, the moment I switched my character from a Papyrus complex (wants to kill but at the same time doesn't want to hurt) to a Flowey complex (self-explanatory) was when the crossbow was destroyed.

"Ah, it's you. I understand. Also, Uhm, in case you want to know, I no longer have any more battle plans against you. Originally I was going to test my spell combinations, but AJ and the others managed to rout you before I could finish memorizing some spells." I stay silent for a while, contemplating. "I feel like Riihs" I mutter underneath my breath.

 

"So, I want-"
You sense a change come over them.
"Ah, never mind. My plans went back to how they were surprisingly quickly. But I'm sure you will be useful later... anyway, how much do you like this place? It's called the Lost Kingdom. It used to be a small kingdom with a powerful navy and an even more powerful leader. The navy was destroyed by Eras' monsters and the armies of the Darklands, Eras' kingdom, destroyed the kingdom itself and their leader. Or at least, they thought. The leader survived, though he has recently turned back to Eras' side... an interesting change. He will soon realise his mistake..."

 

"Man, that kinda sucks. You can't enjoy this delicious bacon..." I say, looking down and heading back to the group.

"How's the new reflection turning out?" I ask, curious.

The three of us seem to enjoy our bacon.

"Maybe I could reverse time and see if we really were wrong about that guy." I say, finishing my bacon.

"Unless you visited him in his secret base thingy, you won't do it," Abigail says, "Besides, I thought you swore never to use the Watch of True Time after you killed Vei with it."

"I never swore not to use it, just...to not use it as often." I say.

"He didn't seem so bad I guess..." Artemis says, almost to herself, "I'm sure there exists a timeline where we're friends, right?"

"Probably. He definitely wasn't corrupt past friendship." I reply, feeling a little bad.

OOC: That was technically Artemis' Father's fault, taking defensive measures to protect his daughter.

 

Near your feet, a plain red dragon and a dragon that seems to shift from being a snowy white dragon to being a wolf pup to a baby hawk are rolling around, trying to pin each other. A blackish dragon keeps trying to intervene with their fight, batting at the two dragons while they roll.

An iridescent dragon, a dragon that literally has no form and looks more like a shadow, and a green dragon made of vines are all sleeping.

A metal, kind of robotic dragon and a dragon of pure white that radiates light are gnawing on a piece of meat. A wooden dragon seems content with eating drelsh.

OCC: Here you go... My references-and-foreshadowing baby dragon army. Heheh.

 

She seems confused for a second but then she appears normal again.
"The new reflection doesn't seem to be hostile this time. And like all reflections father had heard of from other users of soul magic, it isn't responding to me straight away."

 

"Well, as long as it isn't trying to kill you and everything around it, I'd consider that excellent," I say happily, "I'd understand why it might not respond right away; it's probably getting used to being a reflection. You'll most likely need to train it, like a dog.".

 

She laughs.
"Probably something like that. If only I had-"
A crate falls from the sky and smashes just a few metres away from Idala, making her jump in surprise and shock. However, when its contents spill out, she approaches it excitedly.
You see some stone figures. Some are of humans and have various weapons and equipment. Others are of monsters, many of which you recognise from Eras' monster-spell-lifeforce-being.
There is also a strange, metal, rectangular plate and a large tome.
Idala takes one of the monster figures. It happens to be a small, creature which resembles a dragon but looks slightly different. She then opens the tomb and flicks through the pages.

 

"Oh sweet, supply crate!" Abigail says, running over to survey the spilt contents.

"So, uh, what are these?" I ask, picking up a human figurine, looking at it curiously.

"Can I possess one...?" I also ask, looking at the figurines intently.

 

"I'd certainly be interesting if you could."
I say, intrigued.

 

"Of course I could; possession is simply body syncing, so I could easily possess one and control it." I say, looking to Idala intently.

 

OOC: Wow, the things people get up to while I'm asleep

The gauntlet continues in this manner, leeching energy from its surroundings. If Ihra is holding the gauntlet and not wearing it, she'll be falling unconscious right about now. Plant life near it slowly yellows and appears to almost crumble, but remains barely alive. The aura of darkness stays about it, slowly growing. The gauntlet is no longer visible.

You feel a sudden sharpness, as if someone had suddenly splashed you with water. Everything seems crisper, more detailed. You realize that energy is flowing out of the dagger I gave you.

 

I say, "That's actually how you use them. You possess them and control them. You're meant to possess the human ones and fight the monster ones."
Idala stops flicking through the tome. Looking triumphant, she starts chanting over the small dragon figure.
After a few seconds the figure starts expanding into a now larger dragon. Complete with colour, which is silver, and even movement. However, it is still small for a dragon.
"Hey, Aura! How have you been!"
The creature bends its neck down towards Idala passively.

 

"Whoa..." Abigail says, surprised.

I possess the human figurine I'm holding; it darkens, before jolting to life.

"Maybe possessing it while it was still small wasn't a good idea..." I say, looking up at the (relatively larger) dragon.

"You're so small!" Abigail says, picking up the figurine I possess.

 

The figure grows larger even in Abigail's hand(s). Eventually, it grows until it becomes you except wearing a set of light, golden scaled armour. You have an interesting weapon- wait, isn't that the same sword-mace which the robot had earlier? You don't notice any of the other figures having the weapon, as they all seem to have different weapons, just as each of the monsters are different.
Idala says, "Aura, want to train with me?"
The creature nods.
Idala walks over to the remains of the box and grabs a figure.
