Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Alice looks at it carefully, handling it delicately.

 

It seems to be just a twig sprouting from the ground with a few leaves on top; probably a tree sapling.

 

Alice leaves it be, keeping Sgavrinn from eating it.

 

A few birds fly past, but nothing else happens.

 

Sgavrinn curls up and takes an afternoon nap as Alice goes and sets a teacup with an apology note near the river.

 

A few fish swim past in the river, the sunlight shining on the water.

 

Alice checks for any mail before sleeping the rest of the day away, Sgavrinn playing with a ball made out of tangled vines in her yard after waking up.

 

There's no mail for Alice, and nobody disturbs her in the evening or night.

 

Alice heads out to the river, checking the teacup.

 

Someone's drank it, from the lack of pawprints.

 

She checks if the note's there, refilling the cup with a summoned teapot.

 

The note seems to have been picked up in read, judging from the slight crease and changed rotation.

 

Alice leaves a parasol next to it, leaving.

 

Alice passes a young woman with light brown skin on the way back, heading through town.

 

"Study? Not really. I try something then I try again if it doesn't work, and then if it doesn't work then... oh well."

 

"That's the fundamentals of basic science, though..."

Alice hides in her, leaving nothing to alert her to her presence.

 

"Yeah... yeah, I guess."
Crystal says, then thinks.
"What about you? You made it sound like you study."

 

"I have my own place, and yes I study there. Mostly I just mess with alchemical stuff... that's actually how I accidentally mutated Muffy."

 

"Mutated Muffy? How'd that happen?"

 

"Let's just say warning labels are there for reasons."
