Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Uhm... no offense, but we're shadows. I'm pretty sure we're almost all held accountable for murder." Alice points out.

 

"Yeah, but held accountable for murder in a situation where you can't kill the witnesses or the judge." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

Alice laughs.
"Fair point."

 

"Anyway, I'll bring those forms over sometime soon." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Alright, thanks! I'll hold off on exploring the neighborhood, then." She says.

 

"Don't let me hold you back. I'll tell you when I plan to come over." Shadow Stephanie says happily.

 

"Oh, okay! Thanks, my queen! I'll make sure to have some tea ready." She says, letting the link waiver.

 

The link fades, Shadow Stephanie not holding it up.

 

Content, Alice changes out her black robe to a grey-blue one before she heads outside and locks the door on her way out, opting to explore the area a bit with parasol in hand to help with the sun.

 

The area outside is mostly quiet, the sound of running water accompanied by occasional birdsong. There's a few faux-pathways leading away from the house, heading towards what looks like a little more of a residential area with houses closer together, as well as a few shops mixed in. There even appears to be a community centre off to the side.

 

Alice heads to the residential area, looking around at the neighborhood happily.

 

As she gets closer, she notices what looks like a museum and blacksmith's across a bridged river, the river itself leading off the mountain and turning into a waterfall.

A few people walk about town, while others appear to be sitting on a few benches in the centre and chatting. An older looking earth guardian standing near one of the shops seems to notice Alice and waves her over, smiling.

 

Alice approaches him.
"Hello!" She says happily.

 

"Hello there, young lady. You must be the new resident who bought the house nearby we heard about. It's lovely to finally meet you," The earth guardian says happily, offering a handshake, "You can call me Louis, I'm the mayor of this town."

 

"Yes, I am. My name is Alice, it's nice to meet you, Louis!" She says, accepting the handshake.

 

"It's certainly new to have a Shadow living among us, though I'm sure you'll fit in as a resident in no time, Miss Alice," Louis says happily, "You might want to take a trip around town just to introduce yourself to everybody. Everyone's been curious about the new resident."

 

"I came down to do so before a guest arrives. I'm hoping being a shadow does not interfere with everyone's quality of life. I came to Earth looking for a nice place to retire, though, and this seems like just the place." Alice says. "Do you have any recommendations where to start?"

 

"Well, I can recommend the bar this evening! Most people go there to have a drink or just to chat once the day is done," Louis says, chuckling, "Though, of course, if you want to meet people now you could probably just wander around town. We're quite the tight-knit community."

 

"Sounds nice! Though, if you don't mind me offering, I served in the Shadow Palace as a detective, so if anything goes awry I'll be happy to help look into it."

 

"So it would be ideal if her bones were fixed and the tracker was out."
I finish.

"These people are pretty good at their job if you want them to do something else nows the time to trace it"
