Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, he sounds like an interesting guy." I say.

A nurse steps through the double doors.

"Miss Ragnyon? The doctors are ready to see you now." The nurse says.

 

Ragnyon nods.
"Don't be too hard on the guards." She says, wheeling herself towards the nurse.

 

The nurse holds the door open, letting Ragnyon through.

I wave to Ragnyon, smiling.

 

She waves back, going back wherever the nurse tells her to.

 

The nurse leads Ragnyon to a surgery room, a few surgeons waiting. A specialised heart appears to be held in a transparent jar, the area around it incredibly clean. A second jar lies next to it, however it's empty.

"Ah, Ragnyon. We're ready to start your heart transplant now." One of the surgeons says.

 

She nods.
"No hard feelings, but if you mess up I can't stop the fact I'll probably be taking you with me." She says after a deep breath.

"Well... ready when you are."

 

A couple of the surgeons lift Ragnyon onto the surgery table, and a mask is put over Ranyon's mouth.

"Please count to ten." The surgeon says, Ragnyon starting to feel sleepy.

 

"One, two, three, four, five, six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten..." She counts, progressively slower.

 

"And again?" The surgeon asks.

 

"One... two... three... four... five... six... seven... eight... nine... ten..." She repeats, still gradually counting slower.

 

The surgeon nods to another one of the surgeons, and Ragnyon finds the mask giving out more gas.

"And again?" The surgeon asks.

 

"One.... two.... three.... four.... five..... six..... seven..... h-hey..... why didn't..... you just..... ask me...... to count...... to thirty......" She utters, sounding on the verge of unconsciousness.

 

"Please do." The surgeon asks, the mask now outputting triple the amount it was.

 

"........ twenneh..... nihn....
.......thirteh......." She mumbles, eyes rolled back in their sockets.

 

"And again?" The surgeon asks, even more gas being output.

 

Ragnyon's reduced to twenty eight moans before finally going limp.

 

The surgeons wait a bit before beginning to operate.

 

Ragnyon's safely unconscious.


Peridot appears at the palace gate, scanning each guard as he waits, silent.

 

"Yes?" One of the guards asks.

 

"Has Aj begun arranging challengers yet?" He asks, voice monotone.
