"Yeah but by then every worker was dead
So I dont think any complaints were filed"

 

"I'll take good care of it." I say, glancing the staff over.

 

"But he probably got out
And you know that makes things less secret"

It's a simple staff, the crystal ball the real concern.

 

"Yeah
I dont know where he is though
Or what hes said
Or done"

 

"I remember giving you this." I say, looking at the crystal ball.

 

"I'm still glad you did."

"If he got out thats an indicator"

 

"Yes
It is
Whats your point"

 

"I dont know"

 

"I can't remember who was around then. It might've just been Artemis." I say, thinking back.

 

"Alright"
I lay back down.

 

"Maybe you could ask Emerald." Ragnyon chuckles.

She doesn't move either.

 

I don't seem to move after this, staying still.

 

"I sort of miss those times. It was nice keeping up the ruse I wasn't a king..." I say, "But I guess this place has helped us more than it's harmed."

 

"Well, in our case it has. For others it hasn't."

The day goes by silently, nothing coming near either of you.

 

"What do you mean?" I ask.

 

After what feels like another day, you finally get a link from Emerald.
"Hey, you still intact?"

"A lot of peoples from my reality found you inspiring at first, and they used you and Ihra's progress as a reason to keep pushing forward against a king. When it was leaked that you were a king, that inspiration turned to fear... and it's not a great use of your time to run around saying that you're not going to annex some land for your own kingdom, especially because I don't exactly know if you won't."

 

"Yeah, I'm here."
I respond, sitting up and looking around for Amethyst.

 

She's still laying around next to you.
"I'm assuming you're waiting for evac, then."

 

"Pretty much. I thought Aj might be able to get me out, but he left immediately after getting a relic and beating up someone."
I stand up.

 

"Alright. Give me a second and I'll have someone let you back to the palace. Oh wait, Rineth's there. Let me see what's holding him up."
