Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I pick Ragnyon up, carrying her over to one of the elevators.

 

She remains silent as you go.

 

I grow an extra arm to turn the dials in the elevator while being able to still carry Ragnyon, before teleporting to the medical ward.

 

She still seems uneasy.
"I don't mean this like I don't trust you... it's just making me nervous."

 

"It's fine to be nervous. I think even Artemis would be worried if she had to have her heart taken out and replaced." I say, putting Ragnyon down in one of the chairs before heading over to the receptionist.

 

Ragnyon just stares off into nothingness as she waits.

 

Eventually a group of doctors comes through to collect Ragnyon, a wheelchair with them.

"Please come with us, we're ready for you now." One of the doctors says.

"I can help you into your wheelchair if you need." I say to Ragnyon.

 

"That's the one thing I know how to navigate." She sighs, getting up and sitting in the wheelchair.

 

The doctors wheel Ragnyon through the double doors, taking her to a seemingly empty room.

"We're going to need to take a few scans of you so we know how to create another heart for you. It's completely harmless, you just need to stay still." The doctor says.

 

"Alright." Ragnyon says, taking a deep breath before holding still.

 

The doctors leave, and eventually a wall of light gradually covers the room, passing over Ragnyon. Three more walls pass over Ragnyon in different directions, before the doctors return.

"That's all we needed to do. We have your body scans so we know how to move forward." The doctor says, smiling.

 

"Alright... you are intending to anesthize me during this, right?"

 

"Of course, we wouldn't want to put you in any pain." The doctor says.

 

"How powerful is it?" Ragnyon asks. "Usually I just bleed myself out to compensate."

 

"Enough to keep a hyperactive water guardian down for a week." The doctor says.

 

"That sounds like it'll be enough."

 

"You'll need to give us a little bit of time to create a replacement heart, so you can go back out to see the king if you wish." The doctor says.

 

Ragnyon forms two orbs of blood from her claws and holds them out to the doctor.
"You'll want this. Don't let any of it touch any other blood. Results are undesireable."

 

"Oh, thank you." The doctor says, taking the orbs and handing them to another doctor, who takes them away.

 

"Make sure it's clear to everyone who works with it - if keeping samples separate wasn't vital before, you'll take out... probably a good chunk of the ward if you let that get contaminated." She warns.
