Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Emerald holds out a holographic recording of you suggesting a heart transplant.

 

"Oh, right, heart transplant. Ok, I'll go get her and give her a heart transplant then." I say, turning to leave.

 

"You realize she ran as far from the portal as possible, right? Well... probably found some other mode of transportation. That run distance wouldn't be far."

 

"I'll go search her out. Can't be that hard." I say, leaving and heading to the portal room.

 

All the portals are open, but you see Muffy cleaning herself on what seems to be an upper row of portals, only containing one open at the moment.

 

I look at the names of the upper portals.

 

There are none currently, not even for the one that's open.

 

I just head to Xyrnal, beginning my search.

 

You find yourself at a forest clearing, a few foxes scurrying off as you look.

To the north is a cliffside city and a mountain range riddled with caves. Northwest is a beach with a volcano in the distance, and southwest holds a village and rolling hills. The entire southeast quadrant seems to be either forest or swamp.
...that seems to be it for the island.

 

I decide to head north first, aiming to gather information in the city.

 

"Certainly." I say, grabbing three arrows.

 

As per usual, the guard stops you at the gate.
"Who are you and what is your business here?" They ask.

They nod.
"In that case, I wish you luck... even though I'm the one who needs it more."
Pause.
"...Count off or just go?"

 

I shakily draw the three arrows onto my bow.
"Countdown."

 

"My name is Aj, I come in search of a friend who I believe has entered your realm." I say.

 

"Three... two... one... Go." They say, starting to shake the chainwhip.

"All due respect, mister Aj, we can't let anyone in for that reason during the finals." They say. "If you can wait three days, we'll let you in no problem."

 

"The finals?" I ask.

 

"Ah, right. You're a visitor from another realm, aren't you? For security reasons, we don't let any new person into the city when the stadium hosts its big final exhibition. Four days of back-to-back packed venues. Every final from every organized sport they hold there all thrown into the biggest event in the city! It's also the only event where you have to pay for seats each time. Since it's such a popular place, one coin gets one person in every normal venue for the day. Great entertainment, too."
"Ahem... I believe you're looking forward to your break a bit much."
"Ah, yes. My apologies, mister Aj. As I was saying, we had a few people with ill intentions enter the city during the finals and set the ball courts ablaze. Our mayor wants to keep prices down, so we have a gates-closed policy during finals week."

 

"Oh, ok. Are any other cities doing this?" I ask.

 

"Not on this island - we're the only city here."

 

"Ok. I'll go check out somewhere else then." I say, leaving.
