Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I broke them day one, by the way." Alice mutters. "I left the fifth one in the bathroom as a novelty since I never use it."

 

"I can say for certain you're not supposed to have hidden cameras in your house." The guard says.

 

"I find that hard to believe, but whatever. Point is I want a house that isn't trying to watch me. Sometimes a girl wants her damn alone time, and to be actually alone during it would be great. Earth seems fine since Artemis is leagues more enjoyable to be around than my king. So, I'd like a little scouting to be done on the real estate market while I deal with a reality falling apart at the seams."

 

"Very well." The guard says.

 

"Thank you." Alice says, tossing another diamond out. "If you need more for the trouble, let me know. Not by letter since I only come here like every other week, of course."

 

The guard remains silent.

 

Alice leaves.

 

Nobody stops Alice, though her door is shut for her.

 

Nobody comes through to the Shadow Realm afterwards.

 

Eventually, I head to the void palace library, looking for Emerald.

 

She's sorting books by the portal.
"Two to go. Have you ever considered getting her a bouquet for the reunion?" She asks offhandedly.

 

"I've considered a few things. I was wondering if you knew where the penultimate one would be?" I ask.

 

"Depends on which of the two you want to tackle first. You want to go chase down a cripple or pry it out of our enemies' hands?"

 

"Chase down a cripple?" I ask.

 

"Ragnyon. Xyrnal."

 

"What do I need from Ragnyon?" I ask.

 

"Heart." She says, a loud thump of books being pushed back against the shelves following.

 

"So I have to murder her and carve out her heart?" I ask.

 

"I can't do your caveman voice, but yes that would work."

 

"Is there any alternative?" I ask.
