Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Any apex is a worthy foe. One other thing... watch out for the patrols. There's some demonspawn that roam the area."
Pause.
"Now, can I expect your end of this bargain?"

Linoa laughs a bit as she retrieves the arrows.

 

I summon a couple of gold bars, offering them.

"A deal's a deal. Thanks for the info." I say.

 

"What?"
Crystal asks, forming a large bowl with wheels to keep the bows in.

 

They take them, sliding them in a knapsack.
"Pleasure doing business with you." They say, nodding as they go back to leaning against the wall.

"That's a bit ridiculous, no offense. Also, wheels aren't great up stairs."

 

"Then I'll shift. And it just feels better than having a bunch of bows sticking out of me. One or two things feels okay, but this much? Nope."

 

Artemis and I walk away, Shadow Stephanie and Stephanie subtly rejoining us.

"We got info on the location. There's a forest outside the city with a headless thing guarding the relic in it's web. I say we try and snatch the relic and kill the headless thing if it tries to attack." I say.

"Watch it turn out to be something that's harder to kill than you think." Shadow Stephanie says, doubt in her voice.

Shadow Stephanie and Stephanie appear to have walked back over to Artemis and I to regroup.

 

"Probably a bit heavy."

"Headless as in Sister?"

 

"What?" I ask.

 

"Webs? Headless? Is that not ringing a bell?"

 

I trail them, listening in on the information.

"That too."

 

"I'm too tired to think about that right now." I say, yawning slightly.

 

"Well, it's a short walk."

"Going to sleep and coming back?"

 

"And I dunno where we're going. Lead the way."

 

"We plan to." Stephanie says, her tiredness showing.

 

"Just making sure. Where are we meeting up, or are we going to stop at an inn?"

"Upstairs." Linoa says, heading upstairs.

 

"Oh, okay."
Crystal follows, shifting when needed.

 

He stairs end up being shifting hell, but once at the top Linoa quickly puts everything away.

 

Crystal immediately shifts back.

 

"Thanks for the help."

 

"No problem!"
Crystal smiles.
"Thanks for showing me bows."
