Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What do you desire help with?" Myria asks telepathically.

 

"He kinda just... left, after a dragon took me off the island."

I walk around, seeing what kind of trinket shops there are.

 

"I-it hurts..." Embers thinks, barely capable of telepathy.

"That's... kinda crappy to hear."

There's a few shops, displays ranging from simple and cheap to magical and ornate.

 

"What hurts?" Myria asks.

 

Crystal shrugs.
"Sorta. He never said goodbye, so... that... sucks."

I enter one of the magic shops, looking around.

 

Embers weakly stretches a paw towards Myria.
"T-the light... i-it's so w-warm..."
The life force drain, even reduced to a trivial amount seems to be taxing.

"What would you do if you ever found him again?"

Tomes, trinkets, stones (blank runes?), tools, and vials. This shop seems focused on runic and alchemical magic.

 

Myria makes sure she's not subconciously draining the life from Embers, instead trying the opposite with a steady flow from Katie and herself.

 

Crystal thinks, a bit solemn.
"I... I don't know..."
Pause.
"He doesn't really seem like that good of a guy, but he did teach me everything, so..."

I browse some of the trinkets.

 

Seems she was ever so slightly, but now Embers is at least back where she started, able to open her eyes.
"W-wait... it's c-cold here... w-where'd it go...?"

"Wait... really?"

Mostly resistance charms, a few pieces of jewelry that can store a bit of magic, and a few rings that aren't marked.

 

"Well, he wasn't mean, he was just... I dunno how to really say it."

I take one of the rings and look it over.

 

"That's still a bit strange..."

It seems to have a few runes etched into it, giving your vision a slight blue tint. You can now see a few spirits browsing in the shop, so it seems to allow you to peer into the spectral plane.

 

"Yeah... I never saw him, either, which I kind thought was strange."

I take another ring, seeing if it's the same result.

 

"So, you met him without seeing him?"

There's two sets. The other ones in the set give you the same blue tint and allow you to see the same spirits.

 

"Well, he talked to me."

I check the other set.

 

"Telepathically, or can you not remember?"

The other ring gives a red tint, and the entire shop seems vastly different. Instead of wood and stone, the walls are fiery and fleshy, kind of like a hell realm. There's a glow behind the shop counter now visible as well, seeming to lead to a portal.

 

"It was more telepathic."

I immediately put the ring down, and browse some of the resistance charms.

 

"Huh. That's kinda weird."

Basic elemental resistance, as well as poison/fume and weather resistance. Somehow a pair of earrings shaped like snowflakes are supposed to protect you in a hailstorm.

 

Crystal just shrugs.
"Whatever. It's not a big deal now. He's gone."

I look to see if there's a heat resistant charm.

 

Linoa nods.
"You're not even the slightest bit hopeful you'll meet him again?"

There is, it's a pendant with a charm shaped like a tiny torch.

 

"...A tiny bit, I guess."
Crystal bluffs.

I hold it for a bit, looking around for a shopkeeper.
